My mom hit puberty at 8 and now that my sister is 8, is praying that she has a few years left, haha. I’m interested in the topic too.
Definitely agree with this. My brothers and I definitely have spent more time inside than my parents did, but we also have never owned video games, and have played sports and spent more time running around. Never noticed it before, but when I think of my cousins who play video games 24/7 and rarely see the light of day, besides just being fat or skinny fat, they do to have less masculine bodies…I’ve got some pounds to lose but at the risk of sounding like greenboy I guess I’d say I’m fat and bulky. My cousin looks like a genderless blob.
Hahaha…given my current situation I’d say this is true.
I literally can’t remember when I weighed this little. Maybe when I was around 12 or 13? Never been a small dude. Used to “annoy” me but after reading people’s logs on here and stuff I suppose it’s easier for me to just eat a salad and lose weight then have to stuff myself nonstop.
Four of six??? I’m down to four meals and they’re supposed to be 500 calories each. That’s my baseline and I get to eat more if I move more. I’m hungry.
2000 for a 230 lb person. That’s the problem. I need to get back to a true 225. I hate it.
I think 2400 is a reasonable number so if I move around then I get more. I’m trying a different approach that rewards movement. I’ve linked my Fitbit to My Fitness Pal and it adds calories burned and automatically adjusts my calories for the day.
I have to start out planning for 500 calories per meal. If not then I only have about 200 calories left for dinner and evening is when I want to eat the most.
That sucks! Folk are so different on the amounts they can eat.
I know this is prob not going to help but to drop the weight I have dropped the past month I did it aiming for 3000ish cals, I cut the oats from my shakes and dropped carbs from 1 meal (little less treats in the evening on some nights) probably more like 3300 most days though. Currently back to eating the norm at around 3800, which is pretty much maintenance.
My Fitbit tracks calories burned and I’ve used various BMR calculators. I burn 3000-3100 cals a day of average - and this is over a long period of time. The calculators all fall into that range, too.
3000-3100 is my maintenance which sucks.
I only need to lose about seven pounds and I’d like to get it over with, but I’m not very dedicated this time. I was way ahead in calories two nights ago so I ate pizza that was torturing me from the refrigerator.
That’s my problem. If I have a good day then I’ll treat myself in the evening instead of taking the larger than expected deficit.
If your maintenance is 3000 why do you punish yourself with 2000? Because you want it fast? I get it ahah… But perhaps it would be more sustainable slower. And I don’t think one pizza will hurt you that much!
Or we are both just fucked at opposite ends of the scale!
Ignore the meal grouping by the way, meals 1 and 2 are combined as breakfast and meals 5 and 6 are down as snacks. Meals 2 and 6 are shakes with stuff added to them.
