5’9 buddy.
Looks like we’re bout the same size then. What’s the current weight looking like. I’m about 166
Current weight is 77kg so 170lb ish. If I had legs to match my upper I would be much heavier, they where lacking before the bad knee and are terrible now. Lol.
I would say your 166lb is a leaner one than mine though! Your looking good.
Thanks man. I too lack in the legs and also have a busted knee. Here’s to leg gains next year! Well for me it might be late next year before I can properly train them
I say that every year. Lol
I read about your knee problems in your log, Good luck with the recovery.
Trained at an actual gym today for the first time in over 2 years, thoroughly enjoyed myself!
Was great to put my new better understanding of resistance curves etc into action with the right equipment.
Db shoulder press rep target to beat over the coming months. 30kg 9 reps, thought I would get more but I think triceps are still trashed from last session.
Legs, first session doing anything remotely “heavy” for a long time.
trap bar
Worked up to a top set of 144kg for 6. High handles to limit knee flextion. Knee feeling much better.
lunges
100 reps
glute extention
3×15
Thought I would start getting some vids in here.
Turf backyard privately fenced? That’s awesome. What great training area.
Trap bar dead’s look good. Same with the presses.

Yeah it works well for training outdoors, useable in all weathers. As always I share my training areas with my boy!, my wife is an early years education specialist so I was given a brief on the outdoor play area then i designed and built it.
Fairly small garden, have a decent sized conservatory taking alot of the original outdoor space. Seeing mortgage advisor soon and seeing if we can move to a bigger house with better sized garden, hopefully with garage or outbuilding for a proper gym room!
Fuck me, body is letting me know today that pulling heavier loads is something that is missing from my training. Arse and traps are murder.
Back training at home is a bit meh at the minute.
wide chin
6 reps and then ping, pain in upper back/rear delt. This was the reason I stopped doing wide chins.
db rows
30kg 18/15
flaired elbowed bench row
15kg 15/13
rear fly
10kg 2×20
lat pull over/band superset
2 sets
single arm band pull down
1 set failure
hammer curl
20kg x 7
15kg x 10/6
preacher curl
7.5kg 2x 18
Frustrating when you can’t do a movement, but it is what it is. 1000s of other movements that probably do just a good of a job.
Splitting my push session up this week as rear/side delts are still pretty trashed. Not massively sure why. So just chest last night.
Chest
flat db press
30kg 11/11/10
incline fly/band press super set
15kg x failure / bands to faiure
(Stretch position/peak contraction)
2 sets
incline squeeze press
Failure and then partials.
Legs
trap bar,
10×60kg
10×100kg

10×144kg (+4 on last week)
lunges
120 reps
glute extention
6kg 3×15
I prefer going to the gym for these days. I think it’s mostly because I love using cables for so much of my training. I have a nice home gym but still prefer the actual gym for the machines and cables and cardio equipment.
I’d like to get an elliptical for home and I know my wife would use or so I won’t catch any grief. Cables would be next on my wish list.
Yeah I’m thinking about trying to work in an actual gym session once a week.
Space is a big restriction for us or else I would have a large collection of cables and machines at home!
What stuff you got for home?
I built a platform that runs into my half power rack. I have a nice adjustable bench, adjustable DBs up to 100 lb each, a Rogue Echo 2.0 bar for deads and cleans and a couple sets of bumper plates (45s & 25s).
That looks a great set up buddy.
Yeah having cables at home is a game changer for sure. I really like my corner unit. So much versatility
