Kanye West is a Douche
LankyMofo wrote:
LOL @ “relevant”. What the hell is that supposed to mean anyway? Does that have something to do with the level of influence or something? Album sales? Best message? This is music, you are either selling records or you’re not.
Relevence is about how you influence other artists and how you dig out a space for yourself in music.

The New York Dolls for instance sold a shit load less records than Kanye has however they have a million times more relevence in terms of their influence on modern music.

man, who cares. Honestly. Your still going to listen to his music if you did already. He can be a douche, get over it.

oh, and the eagles are taking it this , VICK BABY, who cares about mcnabb. So don’t bother watching any other game than the eagles, because its who you’ll be watching in the end.
nope, while i wasnt a huge fan of his, I listened to some of his music. All of his stuff has been deleted from my itunes. And if he is featured in a song i like i skip his part as soon as I hear his voice.

I am a big taylor swift fan though so that might have something to do with it.

As afoot note, rap is my favorite type of music and im one of the least racist people you will meet, but when that moron pulled that garbage yesterday and acted like an animal, it definitely brought up some negative feelings.

Im glad he was treated the way he was treated yesterday, and reminds us once again. Just because you are extremely rich, doesnt mean you dont have the same class as an ape and the brains of one too. Although he did get attention for himself at the expense of a 19 year old girl, maybe hes not a total moron.

Ovaries much?

I don’t buy for a second that Kanye would have done this to a black artist that wasn’t Beyonce.

Seriously, “best video of the decade?” Come on.

I agree with Whiteflash; Kanye’s lyrics are really piss poor. Poor singer, poor lyricist.

For realz. I could care less how much of an ass someone is, if their music is tight, it will get played. I don’t base my taste in music on personality. Most of these celebs are more than likely asses in private. I actually appreciate the ones who act like that in public as well.

If popular music was what it was in the mid 90’s guys like West, Lil Wayne and Soulja boy would’ve never gotten a record deal.

If you knew what the fuck you are talking about, you would know rappers like Lil Wayne DID get records deals in the 90’s… Early 90’s at that. Its because of him that hip hop and basically all of music evolved to how it is today.

And if he’s selling 1.5 million albums in 1 week, and winning 4 grammy’s in one night, i dont think your opinion matters.

If you knew what the fuck you were talking about you’d know that Lil Wayne signed with Cash Money and rapped with the Hot Boys which didn’t come into prominence until the late 90’s. Get your facts straight before you talk shit and make an ass of yourself.

Lil Wayne signed with Cash Money in 1991, therefore signing a record deal. He was a fuckin millionaire by the age of 15, before starting the Hot Boys. Cash Money + Lil Wayne + 1991 = Record Deal in the early 90’s… Whats so hard to figure out?

What? Where are you getting that info? He signed with the HOT BOYS in 97’, not 91’. He signed when he was 15, not 9. Check your facts man.

He signed with CASH MONEY in 1991, not the Hot Boys. Read. Then joined the Hot Boys who were then also signed by Cash Money.

And yes, his record deal was at the young age of 9. He grouped up with BIG Goochie and released their first group effort called TRU Story Nigga under the name of the “BG’z” when he was 12… Trust me, my facts are straight.

Just cause he rapped on the label owners answering machine doesn’t mean he had a deal. His major label debut was actually in 99’ with the Hot Boys on Guerilla Warfare. We can do this all day. My point is the guy sucks.
You’re right, he must suck… I mean talent doesnt sell 1.5 millions cd’s in one week… Its gotta be just good marketing and advertising

You think Kanye West is like Soulja Boy? The latter is a straight up ring tone rapper. i doubt anyone much out of high school is playing his shit.

I appreciate people who act like themselves in public too. Quite unfortunate his real self is a moronic goon with no class though. Its nice to use individuality for something more then to reinforce stereotypes and make teen girls cry. Im certainly glad I dont think along these lines and glad so many people agree. He definitely got the right treatment from the audience.

The only thing more obvious than this guy’s dislike of white people is his monumental insecurity. And Ponce, you agree with me 'cause you’re a smart man, haha.

See I do. I like to have depth in my music. Like people that have been there and done it.

I have no respect for anyone that sells things or says shit that they haven’t lived or done. Like if someone wrote a song about doing drugs and the closest thing to drugs is Tylenol I really can’t get into.

To each his own tho

Is Macdonalds a good restaurant? It takes more money than any other restaurant so it is succesful but is it a good restaurant?

Is Nescaffe the best coffee in the world? It makes more money than any other coffee.

Is Bud the best alcoholic beverage in the world?

See where I am going with this. Popularity is a measure of success but that doesn’t mean it is neccessarily good.

As long as the McChicken is a dollar, yes it is. Also, it’s McDonald’s.

I think you are getting McDonald’s and McDowell’s mixed up here

That was a stretch, but a stretch made to prove a point. Nowadays one doesn’t have to be talented to make it as a musician. They just have to have the right image/marketing and pro tools and auto tune will take care of the rest. Saying that having already said I like some of West’s beats, but make no mistake they - and he - are 100% replaceable.

But see, Kanye raps about being an asshole. He doesn’t hide it. I don’t like FAKE performers either but I am referring to strict personality. If some artist hates puppies, I doubt that will affect my purchase much.

Kanye doesn’t act “gangsta”. He acts like an over-privileged asshole…because he is one.

I see your point.

Hmm. I remeber someone saying something about people being judged by there character. Nothing about what noises they can put togethor.

But then again it was just a dream.

Dude, its music. People in the entertainment industry aren’t angels. Their industry is a fickle one. Its based not solely on talent and integrity, but popularity and publicity. What Kanye did just made him more famous and made Taylor Swift more famous.

Actors, musicians, and similar people make money by pulling off stunts like Kanye West. Remember when the Rage Against the Machine drummer climbed a structure at one of the MTV award shows and had to be pulled down? It got headlines and they probably benefited from it in some way.

Integrity and character is for losers like you and me. Not stars like Kanye West.

This has really divided the country, I see. They’re just people, in the end. This is about as memorable as being shot the bird in traffic.

I have nothing nice to say about the bum! Ohh and i hear that his music, if you can call it that, is nothing but crap!
