Amazing. Definitely a phenom.

On another note, does anyone notice his face is completely different now? His face now is a lot wider and more bulbous. Wonder if it’s gear or just mass food consumption and gains in body size…

Or maybe being in his mid 30’s instead of 17 ?

I think heavy lifting does change your face a bit. I’ve never seen a big guy with a whimpy-looking face. You can kinda just tell. Even on myself, I look at pictures of me a year ago and my jaw bones or whatever have gotten a lot wider; it’s awesome.
This is purely speculation; don’t rape me with science.

Didn’t you gain like 70 lbs of fat during the past year? Pretty sure becoming morbidly obese will change the way your face looks too.

I don’t wanna start the whole debate again, but it seems like it’s become the cool thing to do to rag on Artem and I think it’s retarded. If most of the other teenagers on this site were half as dedicated as this dude to putting on mass we’d have many more teenagers to be proud of. We rag on ahzaz because he doesn’t try hard enough, we rag on artem because he goes too far (albeit way too far) with his bulk. Where’s the middle ground? People have to get it exactly right in order to be commended?[/quote]

Somewhere between the two extremes of “not working out and not eating much” and “not working out and eating too much” would be nice.

Remember N3wb? Kid weighed well over 300 lbs and was admittedly a very fat teenager, but people gave credit where credit was due because he remembered to get strong as fuck in somewhere in there too.

I only rag on Artem when he talks about things “in his experience” when his only experience is a year of doing it wrong.

Back on topic, after seeing the pictures posted of Phil Heath…I’m not sure who I’m going to be pulling for at this Olympia…tough call.

That’s for sure man! It’s gonna be a war between Kai, Phil, and Dex. imo

This Olympia is gunna be kickass!

100 lbs in a year is “a little too much”?

People gaining 70 lbs of lard in a year without getting stronger or gaining a significant amount of muscle are exactly the reason we have to deal with the lean bulk crowd here so much.

Nothing wrong with pushing your limits, hell, I’ve gained in the ballpark of 60 lbs since I first found this site, but lets be real here. He is really no different than that guy who spends $400 a month on Biotest supplements but forgets to train hard.

Personally, I thought his post was really fucking funny given his year-long quest for obesity.

Unfortunately, I guess we will have to deal with a shitty webcast instead of quality footage on tv. It’s a good thing I have a PS3.

Dude, this isn’t the thread for this. No one is saying everyone should try to gain 100lbs in a year. I am also not saying that there is no one who can do this (as someone out there may just have the genetics and be new enough to pull that off without getting fat)…however, Artem learned a lesson that the majority on this site won’t ever learn because most are at the other extreme where they are afraid to eat anything at all because they fear losing an ab.

Of the two, my guess is Artem will make more long term progress. This is a game of extremes. If any of us did what was strictly “sane” we wouldn’t have anyone on this site with arms much over 17".

I guess for now we’re gonna have to enjoy more of it off 19"+ monitors.

Agreed. I think we both see what the other is saying, so here’s some pennance for hijacking:

Holy fucking hamstrings.

Un-freaking real.

We know this, nobody is gonna out freak him. But after that back shot of Phil on the first page, I really think he can do this.

Although I feel like people are sleeping on Dexter for some reason.

I still think Dex is amazing, but I think people are just ready for something new and he has been on that stage for several years now. I have his vids and he looks inhuman in the gym training. I can only hope I can come close to that.

Phil Heath has freakiness on his side and his face will sell magazines. I personally think the judges will think that way as well…but we’ll have to wait and see.

This is the first Olympia I am looking forward to as I think it will upset the way things were.

ahahahahhahahhahahhaahah.

You mean ushering in a new era, a new ‘top 5’ as it were. We could see Heath and Greene battling it out for the top spot like Cutler and Ronnie in the coming years. Of course with others on the come up.

Sidenote: I think Cutler will get 5th, at best.

Phil has a personality that could be marketed towards the mainstream public. I could see him going on Conan and being interviewed like Arnold going on Carson back in the day. He has the whole ex-athlete thing going for him which they could use to shoot down the muscle bound idea. And in all honesty, he is a good looking guy, you can stand him next to Kai and subjectively say that Phil is good looking, which is part of the reason the mags wanna put him on every cover possible.

Ya know Leno used Ronnie in a bit a couple years ago, but I can see Phil going on for an actual interview.

yeah after those pics of Heath i was like damn Kai’s got his work cut out but after seeing that hamstring shot…i definately think he has a fighting chance.

when is that hamstring shot from ?

As will I.

Anybody know where we can find a list of guys who have qualified so far ?

His upper chest is so impressive at the end of the video.

Pretty sure that was this year’s Arnold. He’s way too big in that shot to be the '07 Kai.

Kai has definitely kicked it up a notch. If you look at old pictures, he had that “Joe Bodybuilder” look…not to say that he didn’t have an excellent physique, just that in the current crop of young pro’s/top NPC guys…nothing really memorable. He’s gone from normal high level bodybuilder to WHAT THE FUCK status.

Sort of like going from a z06 Corvette to a Lambo.
