Day 2 of Complex hell. I’m really trying to get a handle on my conditioning. Once again they kicked my ass and the treadmill did me in. I went home tired and sweaty. Why do we do the things we do?

I went to awards night last night for the daughter. It’s obvious she is not my child. She received an honor for the 6th grade student of the year as well as an academic award for making the principals list she had a 94 average. The only time i was outstanding was when i was out standing in the rain!

I have been dong high rep stuff on my mid week chest training. For some reason today I woke with the urge to do some dumbbell work, it morphed into doing some heavy DB work then the gym was loaded at 4:30 so it morphed yet again into heavy DB and Hammer strength work and sweaty treadmill shit. It was fun, I may morph the high rep stuff to heavy DB stuff… BTW, the chest press with a 90 lb db, was a PR or sorts. Never attempted that before… A cheapo, but a PR none the less.

90lb DB’s for 6 are nothing to sneeze at! Nice PR!!

Boggles my mind that the gym was packed at 4:30 am. Great DB pressing. You’re back to being the complex king. A late congrats to your student of the year. She sounds like a great kid.

PR = PR. None are cheap. All your weights are moving up and 20 reps on the squats is pretty damn good.

Barbell complex: 5 sets 5 reps each

I’m doing 135 # SLDL, high pulls, bent row, 40lb OHP, and squats in the Smith with 135#. In the last squats I tweaked my back so no treadmill running today. I went home and stood in the hot shower. All will be better tomorrow. It has to be, its bench day!

My daughter is having her voice recital Sunday. We went to rehearsal last night. My daughter blew me away. I tried to get her to let me post the vid i made but I got an emphatic NO! Oh well, Story of my life.

Changing the training up for a few weeks. Going to the beach for the week after Father’s Day, so I won’t be able to train. I figured I would start my program back after my week of ‘deload’.

So today, I decided I would flat DB press and see what I had. Well 2 PR’s later, I think I had some more in me. I’ll save it for later. I also got all wiggy and decided to do some pyramid sets. Go figure. Sometimes I’m a glutton for silliness.

Well I ain’t that damn strong, but I do like pulling around some heavy (for me) stuff from time to time. Krocs just hurt my pussy hands. I added the rack pulls because I have been threatening myself I would do that. So here they are. kind of pitiful compared to all the others doing pulls, but good for me with my weenie boy grip. Thought about using my straps, maybe next time.

The daughter has her voice recital today. She is closing the show with Tomorrow from Annie. Should be a good time with all the grandparents.

Nothing sexy or exciting about today, just a lot of huffing, puffing, and sweating! I should have done 10 more sets to make up for the pizza I ate after the daughters voice recital. She had problems with the Italian song she did, but sang Tomorrow from Annie very well.
