JW's Cacophonic Come back

Things are moving along. And you keep adding a little more to the bench every time you do it. Looking good.
Do you feel like your strength is coming/is back?..grip aside.

I had a couple of beer Friday night. It made me happy. Not getting to it last night prety much set the mood for the evening. Well, except for chasing lightning bugs.

Dateline: Monday 5:21 am Complexes

Complexes: 5 sets 5 reps
Treadmill interval: 12 minutes

I rolled back in time to the oldie goldie from my past, with a wrinkle… My complex consists of dead lifts, high pulls and bent rows with 135 lbs. I do an ohp with 30 lb DBs and step over to the Smith for some weenie squats with 135. I was huffing and puffing after the second set. Wipe the sweat off my brow and to the treadmill to run an interval consisting of a minute of running at a jog and a minute of slow walking on a 3.5 degree incline. I was toast in 20 minutes. My britches are getting tighter. Gotta watch the diet and return to complexes.

Big time work with the complexes, more work than I want to do.

You may have just made me decide to at least try an overhead squat. I’ve been stretching with the bar overhead and for the shoulders. We’ll see. Your daughter is a very busy and talented young lady. Though I’m sure you’ll deny it I’m also pretty sure some of that’s your doing. It’s a very good thing the way you’re involved with her activites.

Joe, The complexes are fun, in a sadistic sort of way. I’m going to have to get back doing them.

Harry, I have not one ounce of musical talent and 2 left feet. That all comes from her mother’s side of the family. Still she is an artist… which is damn fine by me!

Squat warm up: 145x20
Decline Bench wide grip: 155x15, 155x13, 155x12
Hammer Incline: 55x15, 55x15, 55x11
Cable X-over: 3x40x15, super set with Triceps push downs: 60x15, 2x60x12
Treadmill interval: 10 minutes

Missed training on Tuesday, I didn’t sleep well Monday night. I really tried to push it today, but looking back I didn’t succeed all that well. I did work up a huge sweat running on the treadmill. As much as I hate cardio, I need to keep doing it to keep my weight under control.

Great job getting back to the cardio. That is a hard pill to swallow. It will definitely make everything else feel better.

Dateline Thursday 4:17 am Complex day

Barbell complex: 6 sets 5 reps each movement
Treadmill interval: 11 minutes

I did dead lifts, high pulls, and bent rows with 135 lbs, ohp’s with 35 lb dbs, and squats in the smith with 135 lbs. By the 3rd set i was gasping for air. The 6th set damn near killed me. I think I’m going to try to do these about 4 days a week. I’ll cut out my high rep back day. Going to slide some squats in there somewhere.

I had my shit all set up in the corner of the gym and the little clean up cat came in and stripped the Smith down while i was in the middle of my first complex. DAMN!! I thought… you didn’t even ask… But I guess only me, the banker, tattooed surveyor cat, big ass policeman, and the running banker’s wife are the only 4 am’ers that aren’t groggy…

Squat warm up: 150x20
Bench Press: Barx20, 135x10, 205x6, 240x4, 240x5, 3x240x3, 280x1, 190x11
Kroc Row: 3x105x8
Hammer Incline: 80x10, 105x6, 115x5
Face pull: 3x140x8
Incline JM press in the Smith: 185x10, 206x6, 225x4
Treadmill interval: 10 minutes

I did a bastardized combined workout this morning. since I didn’t train Saturday I rolled most of it into this morning. The bench weights felt pretty heavy. I couldn’t get the sets and reps to match up, i was too weak. I made sure I got all the reps i needed. 280 went up pretty easy so I was happy. The other stuff I did with no rhyme or reason, just tried to get it all done.

I had a lazy moment Friday morning and rolled over after the alarm went off. then Friday night I was a bouncer for the 8th grade dance at my daughters school. Actually I was a prop, their theme was a Hollywood premier party. the wife volunteered me. 30 years ago I was a bouncer. That’s how I made beer money and met girls in college. Well the crowd was younger and completely sober. Plus we had the sheriff out there running off the undesirables. Can you believe there were high school kids trying to crash an 8th grade dance?? go figure!! Then Saturday it was off to Goldsboro for a 2 1/2 hour ride to the wife’s family reunion. I was whipped last night. Maybe thats why everything felt heavy today.

JW’s Sunday morning Will Rogers comment that still holds true: We have plenty of confidence in this country, but we are a little short of good men to place our confidence in.

Cool pix. I’d think twice before tryin to cause problems there. Kudos for taken care of the family stuff. Good to hear some things remain constant. Perverted high schoolers. Doing 280# on the bench whenever you feel like it is a marked improvement. Kroc rows are outstanding.

Treadmill interval 10 minutes

My complex consists of 5 dead lifts, 5 high pulls, and 5 rows with 135 lbs. I do OHP’s with 35 lbs DBs. I step over to the Smith and do 5 squats with 135#. I’m going to monkey with the weights and push up the intensity levels. Of course I was wagging my tongue on set 4 and damn near dead on set 5. The treadmill crap was just an extra nail in my coffin for the morning. I think I’m going to try and do these about 4 times a week for a while. Whats a little more torture in one’s life, right?
