Well complexes are a grreat way to get sore.
Maybe some sort of contest would help keep you motivated?

Keep at it, brother. Things are gonna come around. Just keep some momentum going.
Joe, I really need to get my head out of my ass more than anything.
Thanks Skip. thats what I’m trying to do
Dateline: Friday 4:11 am
Squat: 135x10, 205x8, 5x235x5
Ab work: a whole bunch of leg raises
Glute Hammie raises: a lot of them too
15 minute treadmill walk
Day number 2. Hope I can get day 3. I think I need to break out the camera for a depth check. Squats felt good. I left the gym with rubbery legs and I’m sure I’m going to have a sore gut soon.

The daughter had a sleep over Saturday night. So they wanted to go shopping and take a movie. During the movie Daddy trained. Felt a little bit better about Sundays session. Got some good exercise in and really felt the training. Stepped on the scales at a whim. Wish I hadn’t. Now I need to redouble the diet efforts.
Dateline Monday 4:12 am
Barbell Complex 4 sets with 85 lbs
Treadmill walk: a brisk 15 minutes.
Did a 3 move complex, Snatch deads, hang snatch, to OH squat. Just walked really fast on the treadmill. Gotta get the conditioning back so I can get the weight under control again.
JW’s morning thought: No diet will remove all the fat from your body because the brain is entirely fat. Without a brain, you might look good, but all you could do is run for public office.
Strong work my southen brotha. Just say no to the scale. Those things are nothing but trouble.

x2 Scales are evil. Not to mention, they can be very deceiving.
Nice work. Not sure how it felt, but the bench still looks strong.
Keep up with the complexes. 85lbs is pretty impressive. No matter what you are doing.
Thanks Skip, Steve, and UN42. I agree scales are evil… complexes are evil… cardio is evil, and tomorrow I’m going to dance with their evilness once again…
Dateline Tuesday 4:21 am
Squats: 135x10, 205x8, 4x245x5, 245x3
Goblet Squat: 60x10, 70x10, 85x8
A bunch of ab stuff
Glute ham raises
Treadmill walk: 15 minutes
Had to wait out in the cold for the cat to make the gym door unlock. Added goblets in, just because. I kinda like doing them. Need to do some good mornings. My legs are already rubbery. I’m going to be sore soon!
JW’s morning thought: The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight because by then, your body and your fat are really good friends
Fine, fine squatiing. I too am a fan of goblet squats. I think they are damn fine finishing lifts for squat day.
Good training. Gettin back in the grove.
Thanks Joe and Harry… I just hope I can keep it up.
Dateline Wednesday: 4:10 am
Barbell complex: 4 sets 7 reps 95 lbs
Brisk treadmill walk: 15 minutes
I upped the weights and reps. Complex consisted of snatch grip dead lift, power snatch, and OH squat. Tried polish press but I’m too damn weak. Funny how the first few power snatches hurt my right shoulder a little bit but when i adjusted my pull the pain went away. 95 lbs went up easy. going to try 115 next.
JW’s morning thought: People who would put ketchup in the sauce they feed to innocent children are capable of most anything. Let the word go forth from this time and place that we, the Eastern North Carolina purveyors of pure barbecue, will not be roadkill for our western kin
Dateline Thursday: 4:07 am
Barbell complex 4 sets various reps with 90 lbs
Treadmill walk: 15 minutes
I did 5 SLDL, then 6 power clean, 8 ohp’s, 6 squats, 5 lunges, 10 bent over rows. The 4th set made me puke a little… That was humbling. good thing i had an empty stomach and the janitors closet was unlocked. After the treadmill walk I was huffing, puffing, rubbery, legged and bug eyed… Got one of the daughters friends staying the night. Should make for an interesting night.
JW’s morning thought: Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys.
Good man, you know you pushed it when you puke.

x2
Great work. I never seem to get to that point. It is not uncommon for me to get blurry vision, but I haven’t lifted till I puked since I was 16.
I dont remember turning the alarm off… Shit… I was going to squat today.
so you will squat tomorrow,
working hard enough to puke is a good time.
You needed a de-load day today.
Dateline Monday: 4:06 am
Barbell complex: 4 sets of varying reps, 95lbs
Treadmill walk: 20 minutes
Complex consisted of SLDL, hang clean, OHP, squat, lunge, and bent row. 4 sets killed me but I didn’t puke… Guess I had some more sets in me…
What started as an oversleep day on Friday morphed into an unwanted 3 day deload. The daughter had a friend over for 2 nights. The girls volunteered for a Smart Start event on Saturday, sandwiched in guitar lessons and a funeral for one of the daughter’s friends new born niece. Some where in there I figured out how to get a really nice Vietnamese supper and make the girls chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast as well as fix a roof leak around the range hood exhaust while the wind was blowing 40 mph… I needed to go to the gym this morning for a rest…
JW’s morning thought: Nouvelle Cuisine, roughly translated, means: I can’t believe I paid ninety-six dollars and I’m still hungry.
You did have a busy weekend. I made pancakes as well. Do you put crisco in the pan? Makes the pancakes crispy. Not healthy but oh so good.
