Good to see that you are still working it. I sure hope that the other stuff settles down quickly and acceptably.
Thanks Skip and OG. Its good to get some training back under my belt. I hope I can sustain it.
Dateline Wednesday: 3:58 am
Bench assistance
Floor Press: Barx20, 135x15, 205x9, 255x5, 2x275x2
Hammer incline: 70x10, 70x8, 70x7 super set with “crazy bell” decline bench press: 170x8, 170x4, 170x2
Triceps push down: 3x190x8
Floor presses went well. It’s the first time I have done them in a month or so. I was pleased with 275x2. I did the ‘crazy bells’ with my rubberbands and 2 20 lb dumbbells. It’s the first time I tried them. Don’t know what possessed me to do them on the decline. I like how it hit all my stabilizer muscles. Who knows, maybe they will help with something. It did break the morning up.
DAMN, its cold down here in Nawth Kakilacky! There is nothing like having to take your morning constitutional in a porta potty when its 15 degrees out side. I need to move to the islands!!
JW’s morning thought: The best car safety device is a rear-view mirror with a cop in it.
Damn fine floor pressing JW. The crazy bells sound like fun and sometiems you’ve got to try new stuff.
Yep. Nice presses.
Didn’t the islands get snow last year?
That 15 degree porta potty visit reminds me of one winter in Colorado many years ago. I was living in a rustic cabin about 9000 feet up in the front range. Outhouse visits were an adventure.
Good to see you still going at it.
JW great to see you back in the gym, just get in when you can. Got a good laugh out of your morning thought on home improvement, working on a kitchen remodel right now. Stick with it.
Snow… I hate me some snow…
Snow is nature’s way of saying you’ve gone too far north.

You haven’t lost much on the chest pressing, a little time off did some good. Love Joe’s saying about snow and be careful what islands you move to, one of mine was in the Berring Sea and 15 was a heat wave.
your determination is impressive, keep up the hard work. guess fall got skipped this year in the mid atlantic

Oh damn Harry I’d have died. Thank god the Corps only sent me to warm weather places.
Dateline Saturday 5:15 am
Bench day
Squat warm up 135x20
Bench press: 135x14, 205x9, 3x245x4, 2x245x3, 2x275x1, 225x3
Incline DB press: 3x65x10
Cable Xover high to low: 3x70x8
Cable Xover low to high: 3x40x8
Triceps push down: 190x10, 190x6, 190x4 super set with OH extensions: 140x8, 140x4, 140x2
Pretty decent training. Felt a little shoulder tweaky and stopped on the drop back set. All felt well with everything else. Decided against JM presses because of the earlier ‘foolishness’ going around in my right shoulder. All and all a decent morning.
Dateline Sunday: 5:30 am
Back day
Squat warm up: 135x20
Krock row: 3x110x10, 3x125x4
Lat pull down: 3x135x8
Face pull 3x110x8
Cable row: 3x165x8
Reverse fly: 3x35x8
Rack pull 3x275x4
Fairly fast training on Sunday. Had to brave the crowds and finish the Christmas shopping. We didn’t get in until 10:30pm Apparently NC has moved somewhere other than the Atlantic seaboard. If I didn’t know better, I’d think I lived in the Pacific Northwest and then the next day I live in New England… I REALLY hate winter!!!
JW’s morning thought: Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys.
Great work in here.
You can keep the PacNW weather, I can’t remember the last time I saw the sun.
Pressing is still looking great. Krocs are working as well.
Hate snow? Blasphemy! If I can drive to work, it hasn’t snowed enough!
Right now, I’d settle for a single flake, though. Instead, it is 75 f#*king degrees! I thought I was done with shorts and t-shirts at Christmas when I moved out of south Georgia.
Jack, I dont want that PacNW weather myself. I have traveled out there a lot in the winter, never had fun unless i was drinking. Port Angeles and Astoria are DAMN COLD when its 40 degrees and raining with a howling wind…
Skip, After my 5 years in Boone I HATE snow. I’d give my right arm for Christmas in shorts!
Dateline Tuesday: 4:57 am
Squat day:
Squats: 135x20, 205x8, 4x245x4, 185x8 Edit*
Treadmill interval: 14 minutes
Going to be sore soon. I can feel it already. I’m trying to squat like I bench. I have to come up with some assistance exercises. I guess I need to start doing some research. Cold as hell here. Hard to believe after the last 3 weeks, where its snowed 3 times already that its the first official day of Winter in coastal NC. I can’t wait until Spring!
JW’s morning thought: I have yet to see any problem, however complicated, which, when you looked at it in the right way, did not become still more complicated.
if i might be so bold, good mornings are my very most favoritest of the squat accessories. that and deadlifts
Solid work on the squats, JW, solid work.
Port Angeles is on the tip of the world. The wind only howls there in the winter when its calm out. The rest of the time, it really blows. ![]()

Thanks Jack. I forgot about Aberdeen… Spent a week between there and Woodland in Feb. One of the coldest Mid 40 degree weeks I ever lived through.
Well, if the forecast is right, there won’t be shorts and t-shirts for Christmas…at least not out side. Low of 21 high of 37. Sounds like a good day to keep a fire going.
Nice squats. Good reps at 285#. Send me some mojo. I’ll return it Christmas Eve, with interest.
