JW's Cacophonic Come back

WHIP IT GOOD!

What are you doing way back here?

Not much training since last Monday. Seems I had a bad infection in my finger. He lanced it Monday and again Friday. Friday was fun, He had to “numb” the finger. then lance an even bigger spot. Hurt like hell, and I figured out why they screw with your fingers during torture time… Finally after the 2 lancings and 2 rounds of antibiotics it seems to be healing…UGH!

That was after we took our daughter to have her tonsils removed. Everybody was getting sliced and diced at my house on Friday. The finger seems to be healing nicely now, while the daughter is healing slower. She is in the 4th day of recovery, and the Doc said she will hurt the worst about now… Oh well, at least she does like ice cream!

Poor kid. Hope she isn’t in too much pain. And I hope the finger doesn’t give you any more grief.

This mirrors my experience, except I only required one lancing. Did they numb your finger at the webbing? That hurts. And the worst part for me was that the anesthesia didn’t take effect until after the draining. Glad you are finally healing. Did you doc tell you what type of infection you had?

He said it was a paronychia and yes it hurt like hell. I dont know where he numbed it, I just know it burned and stinged like a mother huncher! I was too chicken to watch! I took a round of sulfur and then a round of clindamycin.

dang willy. y’all need a live-in, personal surgeon.

Glad that the finger is on the mend. Sounds like a less than pleasant experience. Wrapping your hand around a weight bar might cause enough pressure to help it drain. 'Course, it might also hurt like hell.

This might be a dumb question, but will having her tonsils out have any effect on her singing voice?

Thanks Skip, less than pleasant is an understatement! Its really on the mend and I’m about to take the last antibotic. As for my daughter, the Doc said her tonsils were HUGE, and full of “stuff” he said she should be able to project better and have a lot less throat issues… We are waiting for the scabbing and then we will be on the down hill run!

Still have my tonsils. Doc says they are the biggest ones he has ever seen still in someone’s mouth. But I was advised against having them removed at my age.
Hope she, and you, recover quickly.

JW- you would heal up already…without the Morning thoughts I am lost!! Best to your daughter…

Thanks OG, the daughter is doing lots better now.

Saturday was the first day back after 2 finger lancings and 3 rounds of antibiotics. Still taking the antibiotics, It seems there is still some infection in the finger. My bench training went OK. was pretty happy with the 5 sets of 245 and the 275x2. Bounced around with the rest of the training. Slept in Sunday.

Stayed up late Saturday night watching my buddy on Swamp Loggers and Mike Holmes fix builders fuck ups in Canada. The amazing thing was the gym has more people at 5 am then they do at 7:30 am. Had the whole place to myself… That’s kinda cool… I lowered my weight on the whip snatches. Seems to help with my snatch form.

Backplex… Its a big super set: SLDL with 185 to an OHP with 95, then to OHP lockouts, and back to SLDL. I don’t know why I came up with that, other than I felt short changed by my back workout of late. I have started back on the treadmill. I’m getting too damn big for my britches… or my ass is getting lardier,

JW’s morning thought: I’m not a vegetarian! I’m a dessertarian.

I like those bench numbers and lifting through the pain. Shows dedication and determination.

Nice benching and krocs. Numbers look good.

Glad to hear that the daughter, and the finger, are doing better.

Thanks UN42. Be safe over there, we need to see you state side.
Skip, she is doing a LOT better, almost back to her old self. She is afraid to sing. I can’t wait until she does.

Dateline Tuesday 4:10am

Squat: 135x10, 185x10 225x8, 4x295x3 205x8
Treadmill interval: 13 mins

Long LONG over due squat session. My legs are still like jelly as I write. I am sure Uncle DOMS will be visiting soon!

JW’s morning thought: There’s never enough time to do all the nothing you want.

Great squat workout. Your legs will be aching for a couple days.

I was watching swamp loggers this past weekend and actually wondered if you got any wood from those guys. You really know that guy?

We got logs from Mr. Goodson a few years ago when he was working on a tract near Greenville NC. I met him a few times and he is a class act. They often talk about going to Turnbull with logs. The owner of that mill is a good friend of mine, from my home town.

Where are you located in NC? In addition to being a weight lifter I'm also a woodworker, and it sounds like you have a mill, which is always interesting to me as I'm looking for lumber. Currently I get most of my stuff from Carolina Hardwood in Gibsonville, but they don't mill their own wood.
