yeah buddy!! whip snatches!!! how are your traps and upper back? Mine got wicked sore the first few times I did them…and 95 is F’n heavy too me!! Nice work all around.[/quote]

Very little soreness OG. I think if I could generate some bar speed I could probably snatch 135 pretty easy. My bar is ssssooooo ssssslllllooooowwww… I’ll take some vid but it will be like watching paint dry…

Thats some nice lifting, my back will last a lot longer than my grip on rack pulls too.

Nice work. The bench is really moving. Never done a floor press (or a whip snatch, for that matter). I’ll have to give them a try when I’m bored, one day.

I was just reading about the whip snatch. Gonna have to try those. Now, I’ve been accussed of being pus…, never mind. Training continues to progress.

Joe, I’m glad I’m not the only one. Skip, good to see you. With your bench you can have some awesome floor presses. Thanks Harry, I read your reply and damn near died laughing!

Dateline Wednesday: 3:55 am
Bench assistance day

Squat warm up: 175x20
Floor press: barx20, 135x15, 205x5, 275x5, 2x315x1, 325xmiss
Hammer incline: 90x8, 90x6, 90x4 super set with cable x over: 60x10, 70x8, 70x4
Triceps push down 207x10, 217x6, 217x4

Once again I was feeling froggy with my floor presses. So Wilson the pumpkin tried 315. It went up slow and steady. So feeling extra froggy and all testosteronie I thought I’d give 325 a try. SLAP ME back to reality… !t wasn’t in the cards for me today. I super set the Hammer Inclines with the cable cross overs, why I have no clue. I have to add some weight to the stack for the push downs.

Had a meeting with a new bank yesterday. Hopefully they will offer a proposal. Our ‘advocate’ put it to us this way. It looks like we have a bank that wants our business to be our partner rather than someone that simply tolerates our business…

JW’s morning thought: You can’t just turn on creativity like a faucet. You have to be in the right mood… Last minute panic!!!

Nice work, Wilson! That rep was smooth and strong. No problem. Things are really looking good.
Just do the 325# next time. Gotta have something to look forward to.

3:55 a.m? I think I was doing a set of rollover and snore.

3 wheels on a floor press is awesome! Great work, and good luck with the new bank, I really hope that works out.

I missed the comment on the bank. Best of luck! I know that would be a great weight removed…

That was a really good rep, Wilson. You make me aspire to pumpkinhood.

great work willy.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the kind words.

Dateline: Thursday 3:57 am
Back Day

Squat warm up: 175x20
Kroc row: 4x125x4
Whip Snatch: 4x95x6
Rack pulls: 4x195x4

Kind of quick and dirty this morning. Not much to report. I have included a vid of my Whip Snatch. It looks as shitty as I thought. Not much pop in the weight. I need to work on developing some bar speed. In retrospect, Mr Roten (the guy I oly trained with in college) used to bitch about me not generating bar speed and muscling the weight up… HOWEVER, I do enjoy me some whip snatches…

JW’s morning thought from the philosopher Calvin: Why isn’t my life like a situation comedy? Why don’t I have a bunch of friends with nothing better to do but drop by and instigate wacky adventures? Why aren’t my conversations peppered with spontaneous witticisms? Why don’t my friends demonstrate heartfelt concern for my well being when I have problems? …I gotta get my life some writers.

Rockin’ the whip!!! well done JW…

Wilson, to get more speed, bend over less, bend at your knees more, and keep your elbows straight while you extend you knees and hips.

Thanks Carl. I’m gonna print that out in big letters and tape it to the wall! I need a checklist!

That looks positively painful. Great work, but painful no less.

Dateline Saturday 4:57 am
Bench Day

Squat warm up 175x20
Bench Press barx20, 135x13, 205x8, 255x5, 4x255x4, 2x285x1, 225x10
Incline in the Smith: 3x205x8
Flat cable fly 3x50x8 super set with incline cable fly: 3x50x8
JM in the smith 2x205x8
Triceps push down: 3x215x8

The crook of my left elbow started hurting while I was benching. don’t know what was up with that. I lowered the weights I was using on the Flys. Also I have some kind of infection in the tip of my left middle finger. I don’t get it, must be a spider bite or something. Cant see any marks, but it is red and inflamed.

Dateline Sunday: 5:03 am
Squat warm up 175x20
Kroc row: 105x5
Kroc row: 125x3
Lat pull down: 3x140x8 super set with face pull: 3x110x8
Whip snatch: 3x95x8
Rack pull: 225x6, 3x295x3, 2x315x1

My finger has really gotten tender and it was effecting my Krocs. While it is sore when I pull if i put pressure on the sides of my finger it hurts like hell! I guess I need to see the Doc. There is no visible marks of a bite or an infected splinter, the damn thing is red and puffy with a hint of blue running through it. It really effected my lifting. After a few good weeks, It’s just what I needed, a set back!!!

JW’s morning thought via Calvin and Hobbes: These are interesting times. We don’t trust the government, we don’t trust the legal system, we don’t trust the media, and we don’t trust each other! We’ve undermined all authority, and with it, the basis for replacing it! It’s like a six-year-old’s dream come true!

Definitely get that checked. If it is a spider bite, the sooner the better.

Nice work and hopefully the finger won’t be too much of a set back.

I had a similar experience with my left ring finger last March. Mine got so bad it had to be anesthesized, cultured, and surgically drained. It ended up being a bad strep infection (in my finger!) that required multiple antibiotics. So definitely get it checked.

Thanks for the whip snatch vid. It was pretty much what I expected, but had never seen it before.

Bummer about the finger…but great to see you return to form with the weights. I think its the whip snatches that are helping(haha)!!

You’re falling apart!! Hope everything heals up real soon.
