I must, respectfully, disagree with you, sur. I am more than ready for some cool or even cold weather. As I told one lady the other day who opined the heat was better than the cold; “I can put on all the clothes I can wear while delivering mail to stay warm but modesty, the post office, and the law prevent me from removing much more to stay cool.”
How’s the supersetting incline and deline benchs feel? That’s a unique combo for a superset.[/quote]
Amen.
It was 109 earlier this week, 76 yesterday, what a relief.

The ever present grip issues still persist. Oh well. I’ll keep trying. Not much to report today. Just another early morning workout. Hopefully I will have something witty to write about soon.

Great work in here, Wilson. I like the heat as well. We only get a few good warm days here a year, and its been a little challenging acclimating to the cold and damp PacNW again.
Its been a while since I have taken a swim through here. Soory about that. I know it kept you up at nights wondering where I was. Good to see things are setteling down for you. How are you liking the 20 squat warmup? Looks daunting from this angle.
Squat warm up: 135x20
Bench Press: barx20, 135x15, 205x8, 4x225x4, 175x13
Incline in the Smith wide grip: 135x10, 155x8, 175x6
Flat cable Fly: 3x40x10
Incline cable fly: 3x40x8
Skull crushers: 3x50x8
JM in the Smith: 3x135x12
OH ext with rope: 3x120x12
I have noticed I get a lot more chest pump from bench pressing than DB pressing. I guess I need to do more sets and reps on DB days. Still its an interesting observation for someone relatively untrained as I am in the art and theory of weightlifting. Had a good workout and breezed through it in about 2 hours. I really like training with no real time limit. I’m going to inch the bench weight up in the 4x4 part of the exercise and add a one rep max in before the drop set

Another fast one for Sunday. I had planned a longer training day but slept in and then got the urge to ride my bike. By the time I got home I found out my water heater had died. Killed 2 birds with one stone, I took the daughter on a Harley ride to Lowe’s for new water heater elements. Maybe next weekend I can add in some more back work.
JW’s morning thought: People ask me was I funny as a child… Well as a child I WAS an economist…
When you said “got the urge to ride my bike,” I thought you meant cycle. Was really impressed that you were a cyclist too. Then I saw mention of a Harley. Had a good laugh.
kpsnap, sorry about that, just another (non tattoed) harley dude that lifts weights so he doesnt look like a pear riding his bike.
Thanks Harry, I’m trying. I appreciate your words more than you know.

Hammer incline 3x70x8 super set with decline bench press: 155x10, 2x155x6

Not much to report. Breezed through the training. Looks like we may get a hurricane brushing close to us. I hope its just some wind and rain. I’d rather it be high surf just for my surfing buddies, but I think I’m not going to get my druthers…
JW’s late day thought: Most times it feels like Alfred E Newman is in charge in Washington.
SLDL, high pulls, and bent rows with 135#. OHP with 70#. Squats in the Smith with 185#. I worked a great sweat, I really got my heart pumping this morning. I should have run a bit on the treadmill. I’d rather take a beating than run anywhere. I know I’m going to have to start if I want to get back in control of my weight.
We are getting ready for Earl down here. Looks like its going to be more of a Tropical storm like affair here in eastern NC. My parents on the beach will have a different story. Lets hope Earl moves more east than west!!
JW’s morning thought: Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the King’s horses and all the King’s men got salmonella.
Thanks Harry, un42, I don’t think its going to be much here, just more like your typical northeaster. 2-3" of rain and 40 mph winds. Winds out of the northeast blow the river out here.I don’t have much to batten down. My parents live right across from the ocean. They are going to fare different. I’m sure they will wake up at 2 am and wish they had come to town. They say that after every storm.

Kroc rows: 3x100x10
Hammer low row: 3x70x10
Lat pull down 3x135x9 super set with face pulls: 100x10, 2x100x8
Fast and not much to report. I want to move the weights up. It seems with this little bit of training i am out of gas. Getting ready for Earl to come calling. Looks like its going to stay off shore for the most part. The next 2 or 3 in the pipeline are what worries me!
JW’s morning thought: Never hire a color blind bomb technician
Alarm went off, wind was howling, raining sideways. rolled over and went back to sleep. Earl won out over training this morning. Lots rain, a little bit of wind, its more like a winter time Northeaster storm…
JW’s morning thought: We had gay burglars the other night. They broke in and rearranged the furniture.
