Just Tanked My TSH Number

42yo male, 5’10", 265 lbs.

I was diagnosed as both hypogonadal and hypothyroidal when I was 24 and put on HRT. Thyroid was always an issue until I started with T3 in addition to T4 in 2006. Been stable every since. Moved to Vietnam 3 years ago and had to self-medicate and change meds. Was using 100 MCG T4 and 1.25 grains desiccated, and been fine for 3 years. Was off all test replacement for 2 years before starting back 1.5 years ago. Test was 250 and E2 was 55 when I started again with Androgel. Test went up to 550, but E2 went up to 100. 6 months ago switched to injections of 250 mg/ml, 2x per week and added Arimidex .25 EOD. Test numbers were twice the upper limit, so I cut back to .750 ml 2x/week, but Test still went up. E2 is now at 65. My concern after labs today is that my TSH is tanked, while all my other thyroid numbers are within range. I plan to cut back on the desiccated thyroid, as well as lowering the test to .5ml, and check again in 2-3 weeks.

As a side note, I was also donating blood every other month because RBC was slightly high and HCT was 52+. About 6 weeks ago I added 80mg daily of valsartan. Within a week my BP went from about 160/140 to 115/80, and has stayed there. Nevertheless, I was quite surprised when I saw those numbers in today’s results, as they dropped significantly without any donations in 3+ months. I’m mentioning because I don’t know what is related and what isn’t.

Also, haven’t had any alcohol in 6 weeks, but liver enzymes still slightly elevated.

I’m new to injections, and not looking to be taking juicing levels. I’m trying to find the right combination to be at the high end of normal, but options are limited over here.

Any advice, thoughts, experiences? Thanks!

Your test protocol approaches juicing levels, at least 300mg per week does, that is a lot for TRT, and 500mg per week is juicing. Decreasing test dosing will bring your blood counts and E2 down.

Just like FSH and LH bottom out when you are on test, TSH will do the same when on thyroid medication.

you are switching between mg and ml. I am unclear as to what your dose actually is.

When I first started I was getting 1 mL vials which contained 250mg. When I saw that I needed to cut back I switched to a 10mL vial that contained 250mg/mL. So, I believe that in taking .75 ml of solution I am getting roughly 188 mg 2x/week. I’ll be dropping to .5 mL for my injection tomorrow, so that should drop me down to 125 mg.
