How to Lower my T Back to Normal Levels?

I’ve been on TRT for a year due to low testosterone. Originally, I was at 120 ng/dl. I started TRT and it went up to 1067 ng/dl. Here’s the issue. A friend gave me a bottle of test E and I was taking a slightly higher dose than my doctor had me on. He wants a follow up blood test in two weeks and he doesn’t want my levels above 1200. I had an independent test done two days ago and my levels are at 1317 ng/dl. That was 2 days after my last injection. I am wondering if I just stop taking any more injections in the next two weeks, will the levels drop enough to get back around 1000 ng/dl? I’m not really sure how the life span will affect the numbers. Any help is appreciated.

You’re going to get higher numbers if labs are drawn two days post injection. Waiting two weeks will bring it down. If you really want to know how you are responding, have labs drawn on the morning of your injection day, prior to injecting.

You can plot it here http://steroidcalc.com and guesstimate where you will be. At the very least drop the Test E for the next two weeks to see where your prescribed dose is getting you. Test E has a half life of 10 days so 20 to be used up so there may still be some in your system in 14 days. Like highpull mentioned, if you can have the draw closer to your injection day, or the morning of, you are almost guaranteed your levels will be loser.

TRT is forever and it takes time to get things right. You need to do the reading…

And you need to keep your hands out of the cookie jar too. We see a lot of problems that start with “A friend gave me …”

Evaluate your overall thyroid function by checking oral body temperatures as per the thyroid basics sticky. Thyroid hormone fT3 is what gets the job done and it regulates mitochondrial activity, the source of ATP which is the universal currency of cellular energy. This is part of the body’s temperature control loop. This can get messed up if you are iodine deficient. In many countries, you need to be using iodized salt. Other countries add iodine to dairy or bread.

I can be a bit abrupt in my replies and recommendations. I have a lot of ground to cover as this forum has become much more active in the last two years. I can’t follow threads that go deep over time. You need to respond to all of my points and requests as soon as possible before you fall off of my radar. The worse problems are guys who ignore issues re thyroid, body temperatures, history of iodized salt. Please do not piss people off saying that lab results are normal, we need lab number and ranges.

The value that you get out of this process and forum depends on your effort and performance. The bulk of your learning is reading/studying the suggested stickies.

I asked a simple question. If you dont want to answer it thats fine; however, I also didn’t ask for a lecture either. It’s really not your place since you don’t know anything about me or how I monitor my overall health.

Your SHBG levels will dictate how long it takes for your levels to drop, surely you will be a lot lower than you are now if you go without injections for 2 weeks.

KSman meant well, there are no judgements here, only advice.

This thread isn’t just for you. It’s for anyone who has a problem similar to you. Or for the rest of us, who just find this shit interesting. You see a lecture, I see valuable information. You’ll get more out of this place if you drop the ego.

So instead of simply ignoring his post you decide to pop-off…not a great way to behave if you’re seeking advice. Good luck.

Oh and to answer your question…lay off the extra sauce until after your blood test. Reduce your TRT dose by 1/4 until after your blood test and you should be ok. Use the calculator @NH_Watts linked to and run a few scenarios to verify.

Inject less… Next question please…

So for anyone still curious, I had my blood retested on Tuesday morning. It was exactly 7 days. I also trained full body 3 days/week for 90 minutes, 2 days I did GPP and metcon work for 90 minutes, and also took walks of several miles on my off days ( I believe I walked about 23 miles in total.) I slept normal, ate healthy, didn’t drink or do other suggestions for lowering levels. My levels dropped to 646 ng/dl from 1317 ng/dl in a week without any injections.

That 1317 was two days post injection, vs the 646 at seven days, correct? How did you feel?

Yes. Last week I took a 400 shot on Sunday and got tested Tuesday morning at 7am. I then took a 200 shot on Wednesday morning and that was the last injection. My strength took a minor hit but not a lot. My body doesn’t feel as recovered though. I’m also in a calorie deficit currently so I expected as much. The one thing that concerned me is I have a history of depression and noticed feeling down on myself more. It’s the combination of being mentally and physically beat up. But I’m lucky because my doctor is very thorough with monitoring my blood work. Hormones, etc… He’s got me on 400/week of test cyp., AI, HCG, and T3 because I also have hypothyroidism. Although my T3 was stabilized, my T4 dipped slightly 2 months ago so now they want to recheck those levels again. It’s been an ongoing process for a year now.
