I expected to have no issue getting my testosterone prescription for this but he now says that I’m ‘fine’ because i’m now technically in range. I tried to show him how I am at the very bottom of the range and for my age (24) I’m well below but he just would not listen. He said we will do bloods over the next three months and if I go under range then he MIGHT prescribe the test. Worst yet he said he will only be willing to prescribe REANDRON every twelve weeks. (WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!). He also says there’s no way you can use HCG with TRT at the same time (ARGH!)
Now I don’t know what to do. He is clearly useless. But in my country (New Zealand) he is my only option using our public healthcare. What can I do? I’ve started trying to research private endo’s (there’s none in my city but there is a couple in other cities). Who else could I look for privately? I just don’t know what to do. Did not expect to not get my prescription. HELP!
He sounds like a numbers only kinda Dr. Then play his game, get the labwork ordered for your next blood samples. Then a few days before, start tanking your Test. Drink alcohol, Flax seed, Mint, Too much protein, Soy and nuts all lower testosterone. The night before your blood draw, do not sleep at all or very minimal. Like an hour or 2 at the most.
This is a dirty way to do it, but this should lower your Test to get you below the threshold.
You’re not in range, these lab ranges have nothing to do with health and happiness. The endocrine society says anything below 300 ng/dL is the cut off point for insurance companies paying for TRT.
These numbers your scoring are disease state levels and man have a higher mortality rate below 300, anything below 500 ng/dL can be a problem for most men as dipping below this range and symptoms begin to appear. First libido and then erection troubles and we all know erection troubles indicate your heart is next.
All labs have different ranges and this confuses doctors who have no clue what they’re doing, your doctor is hinting that he doesn’t normally do TRT on a regular basis because he is making the newbie mistakes.
This doctor is splitting hairs on 2 points, an hour later you could dip below the ranges.
This doctor is either a simple minded fool or he is just an uncaring robot.
Endocrinologists usually do diabetes and thyroid, not many have training in how to replace a man’s hormones let alone being able to properly diagnose in relation to TRT. You need to arm yourself with the latest studies to prove your case.
Unfortunately this kind of thing is not uncommon. I had to go through two endos and then landed with a GP who specializes and knows about trt. Do not bother seeing that same endo again. Seeing a Dr privately may be easier as they probably have less stringent guidelines for prescribing, whereas through the public system they probably have to go more my numbers. I’m in Australia and feel for you bro, we are so far behind the rest of the world. Do not give up. My advice is to research the best trt docs in NZ, and go back to your gp and explain everything. Your gp should be understanding and helpful. If not find a different one.
