Just. Don't. Suck (Part 1)

Those are first thing in the morning - not my favorite time of the day.

Dude you look hella fine for 225. We can see all abs, the coveted lower abs that girls love (I don’t have the name in mind right now ahah)

No need to go lower till at least next spring!

Adonis belt, yeah he’s got one of those.

Love how we’re like “mm yeah the part of his abs right above his crotch is lookin’ mighty fine.”

But yeah dude - 225 looks great. Leaner still most people and maybe you’ll feel a little bigger in clothes. Will your training change in any way or just gonna ease on the strict eating a bit and let it go up on it’s own?

Bodybuilding had made me embrace my little gay part.

Long way between “looking good” and “I’d hit that” man.

Not for some backwards people. You can get serious shit for saying a man looks nice

For sure man. When I first saw “no homo” on this site, it was a bit of an eye opener for me. It never occurred to me it was something that would need to be said.

My plan is to stop obsessing over food. I think I’ll naturally gain a little weight. I’m trying to emphasize upper body training. Yesterday’s session was designed with that in mind which is why I didn’t use any weight on lunges. They were done just to keep moving and to do something unilateral.

If I gain fat then I hope it lies on top of my muscles and makes me look bigger in my clothes. As I think back to my younger days, I never measured an ounce of food until I got a smartphone and downloaded a food tracking app. I managed my weight just fine before that. I want to get back to that state of mind.

Looking a certain way definitely has an effect on my mental health. But as with anything, I need to find a happy balance. I’d be happy to walk around with my old 225-pound physique. I also think it will free up my dietary choices. It’s not that I’m going to eat crap. I just hope that I don’t have to spend hours being hungry because I’m worried about gaining a little fat.

So the plan moving forward is to continue my current training program. I hope I can find a way to run that for a long time. My only nutritional goal is to be able to eat without weighing my food. I anticipate gaining weight so I will try to avoid the scale. As a matter of fact, I should probably move it out of my bathroom.

And thanks for the fun back and forth in my log these past couple of days. There’s nothing wrong with admiring another man’s physique. I think it’s only natural after you spend some time in the gym. We actually learn what it takes to achieve a certain look and it’s hard not to appreciate it when you see it.

I also tell myself that I’m just admiring hard work when I sneak multiple looks at a female.

I think that with your current level of leanness if you gain a bit of fat you’ll indeed look bigger in clothes.

Nothing wrong with focusing on upper body. I noticed, at least for me, that it is less draining and can tolerate more beating so if you keep your lower body volume normal you can get away with a good total amount of volume (which is nice for growth and calories expenditure)

Of course! I check girls only for the hard work. Is there any other reason?

Not for a married guy!

I’ve learned that I can admire a celebrity without repercussions from the Mrs. But I cannot, repeat, cannot admire real life people.

From the photos, I’d say you’re basically there man.

I actually do do that sometimes though. Some girls I admire in a totally nonsexual way, and just admire the work. Some I admire because they’re nice to look at but you’d never actually want to do anything. Then there’s some others too.

Agree with @dagill2 you are very close to your old 225. I thought you actually looked a little harder in the new pics. It may just be lighting but either way you look solid man.
225 at that level of leanness for someone who isn’t throwing AAS into their body is not an easy thing.

@kleinhound, have you watched any videos on double unders? I’m glad I watched this one. I was going to do at least three of the things he laughed at.

PICK THINGS UP

2 LAP DYNAMIC WARM UP (5:30)

CONDITIONING(6:37)
4 laps run the straightaway, walk the curve (ran faster so did less)

GIANT SET
Squat 205 x 5 x 5
Squat Jump 5 x 5
Machine Crunch 155 x 10 x 3

GIANT SET
DB Row Left - 105 x 8 x 3, Right - 65 x 8 x 3
DB Bench Left - 65 x 8 x 3, Right - 30 x 8 x 3
RDL 135 x 8 x 3
Side Plank + Abduction x 8 ea x 3

DB INCLINE DOUBLE R/P
50 x 14-5-4 (+2, 0, +1)

SUPERSET
Cable Rev Fly 20 x 10 x 3
SA Rev Press Down 40 x 10 x 3

Total time was about 51 minutes for the lifting. I’ve decided I prefer giant/super sets with three exercises instead of four. I’m still fine tuning this program and I’m not sure what I’m going to do about it. I might drop the jump rope and second ab exercise. I’ve already dropped the jump rope in my last two squat workouts.

Speaking of squats. 205 lbs felt like a 6-7 RM by the final set. Boy, have I fallen. I also don’t know which stance is best for me. I tried three different widths and the wisest and most narrow felt the best - neither caused hip pain. The narrow stance is about the same width as my deadlift stance.

I’ll give this a watch. I was shopping the shit out of my back last night practicing lol

Last night was a rare date night with the Mrs. We went to a newer German place nearby and drank some good beer. I had a bit too much. That combined with yesterday’s squatting has left me quite sore and achy this morning.

No plans today. My work softball tourney is today but I can’t play. I’ll probably go watch for a bit.

I’m pretty certain I’ve eaten too many calories every day for the past week. I’ve kind of accepted that in going to gain a little weight but I don’t want to gain all of it in two weeks!

Boy, am I stiff. I planned to get up early to work out but decided to rest another day. I woke up in the middle of the night and it felt like I strained something on the left side of my lower back. I don’t want to deadlift until that feels better.

The odd part is that I didn’t do anything yesterday. I think I might’ve caused this strain by popping my back before bed. I was super stiff yesterday and it was tough to get things to release.

That’s my secret captain, I never WANT to deadlift.
