Big food, big people. That’s our motto!

I’d love to do a weeks holiday to the States and see how much weight I could put on! I’d call it “mega deload week”.
Dude, my stomach just skipped a beat. You really shouldn’t be able to post that kind of stuff.

@mortdk, I failed my fast, but it was for a good reason. I lifted today and I figured I’d better have some protein. I had a two scoop shake before and after training. I also had a banana after my session. My next food item will hopefully be an Odell Smash IPA that was made just for Old Chicago. It’s a Single Malt and Single Hop IPA (S.M.A.S.H). It’s the only IPA I’ve ever had that is light on the stomach. It’s also delicious.
Last time I was there, they were out. ![]()
Still catching up - hope it’s going well. I hated percoset on my surgery recoveries and always did it for just a day and then quit. I think I’ve got around 6 months worth of the stuff sitting in a drawer somewhere.
I hope they had them today, sounds like a darn good beer J.
Just think of it like a weighted vest
Pizza and beer is pure heaven, but everytime I do it, I pay for it. If i could do it in moderation, I’d be fine, but nope!

Woke at 216.0 lbs and feeling the wrath of my decisions. We met another couple at Old Chicago where I ate a medium Double Deckeroni pizza (2600+ calories) and had few beers. No Odell Smash, but I discovered a delicious Evil Twin Breweries beer - Old Fashioned Lemonade IPA. @mortdk, the creators seem to be from your part of the world. They have Denmark emails on their site.
After dinner we went to an arcade. Yes, an arcade. There’s a place that charges admission and you get to play unlimited arcade games from the 80s and 90s. My favorites were Rampage, Street Fighter, and Mortal Combat. I tried my luck at Blitz and sucked. I never played tree arcade games as a kid so the button configurations were foreign to me.
We finished up at a bar that had a horrible shuffle board table and half price drinks. This is where I solidified the damage to my body with two double Crown and Cokes and this abomination of a mixed drink.
Uber brought us safely home around midnight, which feels like it was horribly late now.
Just think about how much money you could make.
I KID.
@Frank_C - another epic weekend for me - probably mostly water and salt - but what’s the most weight you’ve ever gained in a week? I think by Monday I will have gone from 210 to pushing 220.
I usually only go two days max of binging before doing something to right the ship. I was 218 before bed a couple nights ago so that was about 8 lbs of salt bloat in a day.
I’ve been fasting most of the day these past two days to counter my evening splurge.
Well, I think my holiday binge is over. I’m going to bed stuffed again - chicken tacos and homemade strawberry ice cream was the cuplrit tonight.
@bustedwheel, I’m 222.4 lbs right now. I’m drop weight overnight but that’s a pretty decent amount of dietary swelling. I was 210.2 Thursday morning. Looks like I’ll be fasting as long as I can again tomorrow.

Woke at 215.8 lbs. I guess this is my “full” weight. I’ve been 215-216 for three days now. That’s a lot of glycogen.
That “I think” word is dangerous.
I know. Bad food is addictive so it’s always tough to stop cold turkey and go back to healthy eating.
In the same basic attitude of, “it’s ok”, but I think this is easier for @Frank_C to fall into because he’s doing it with one wing, which makes a workout limited. Holiday or not, we make the choices as far as food, and we can definitely put ourselves in better situations, like filling ourselves up with protein before a BBQ, or not stocking our fridge with leftover pie and pulled pork (I’m guilty). With everyone around us telling us it’s ok, we definitely get to remove the only pressure to diet we usually have (our own). Then we suddenly gain 10 lbs.
I enjoy social outings and they don’t happen a lot. I’m just in the perfect storm right now. Modified workouts and possibly reduced energy expenditure combined with several food centered events is tough you navigate. I’m done with most of the junk for this week. I have a plate of chocolate chip cookies that my daughter and grandma made yesterday.
I have a week to be strict before my next outing. Our friends are having their annual hot dog bar. They cook a bunch of hot dogs and assemble them with the buns and wrap them in foil. All we (the guests) have to do is unwrap, and top with whatever we want. There will be chili, queso, relish, and a whole lot of other delicious items to pile on top of your weiner. It’s also a pool party. It starts at 3pm and goes til midnight. It’s a blast.
On that plus side, I thought I looked pretty decent yesterday despite back to back nights of splurging.
Treadmill Walk
I decided to walk on the treadmill while I watched the most recent Swoley Trinity podcasts. I finished episode five and just started number six. Episode six is on Facebook only right now and they have Dr Schoenfeld on as a special guest. Most of their podcasts are around two hours and this one has two parts. I’m excited to hear it.
2.0 miles in 31:17 at 5% incline followed by walking at 3 mph til I hit 40 minutes total

Woke at 213.6 lbs. I have my day scripted in terms of nutrition. We’ll see if I can stick to it. As of now, I’ll be eating around 2500 calories.
My Fitbit says I’m burning over 3000 calories a day so I’m thinking that’s my maintenance. I’d like to undo what I did over the weekend to reach my goal of 205 lbs. I’m just not very motivated to be hungry all the time.
I thought it was odd that I was 215 lbs Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning after three bad nights of eating. I think that’s my full weight, meaning my glycogen stores were maxed out. That leads me to believe that the weight I’ve considered normal is actually a carb depleted weight, or at least partially depleted. I’m trying to live in maintenance mode and I’d like maintenance to be closer to a full carb load instead of running on empty. That means I need to adjust my mindset and accept a higher maintenance weight or cut some more weight.
I measured my wrist and ankle last night to play with the Dr Butts formula again. Wrist = 7.375", ankle = 9". The formula says my genetic potential can put me in the mid 230s at 12% body fat. Well, I’m either a failure or my genetics are worse than average. Actually, now that I think about it, that formula was reverse engineered by looking at pros. Pros are outliers; they’re not average…
