I’ve set out to redefine Dad Bod. F those fitness models! I don’t need sponsors and meals made for me.
Okay, that’d be pretty cool… Lol

Woke at 207.2 lbs. New dehydrated low!
I’m off work for my wife’s graduation ceremony today and took off tomorrow for Mother’s Day.
The ceremony isn’t til 2 so I get to go to the Y this morning. ![]()
Thanks again for the detailed answers, brother! Want to reiterate how cool it is to see how far you’ve come and get to feel like part of your journey. You, like @jackolee, offer a great example to admire, and something to work toward. Glad to have found you guys on this site!
I’ve debated this, man. I am on TRT, but based on everything I’ve consumed on the topic (which is a lot, at this point), I really don’t think it will be deleterious for my long-term health. In fact, I think it will be helpful.
I think blasting could be harmful, though – or at least would definitely enhance the risk of developing some long-term issues. I obviously want to make huge gains but would prefer 10 more years of life to be around for my grandkids/great-grandkids. I think that would be far more fulfilling.
Sub 200???!!!
I’ve tried to read up on this just because I’m curious, and I haven’t figured it out. It’s like trying to drink from a fire hose.
I’d definitely take it slow with TRT and copy what other successful people have done as well as having honest discussions with my doctor.
My hormones seem to be good and I don’t want to mess that up. It seems silly to force myself into lifelong TRT as a result of using test for vain purposes.
No, no, no… 205 is the number. ![]()
Lean as hell! Great work!
Anyone in particular come to mind as a good example? I have a hard time finding related cases to learn from, because my SHBG is higher than anyone else’s that I’ve seen online.
No. The only people I “know” who are on TRT are right here. And as you stated with your SHBG, every case is different and it can be tough to figure out the right balance.
Best Damn W2 D6
This also marks the completion of 14 weeks of training like a bodybuilder. I started with three weeks of Best Damn. I’ve done a few weeks of push/pull/lower and the Tried & True template, and now I’m back to Best Damn. Although I’ve tweaked things fairly regularly, my training has maintained the same effort and the emphasis has been delts and chest (in that order).
WARM UP
10 min Bike, L10, 2.75 miles
OHP (SGSS WK 4)
45 x 10
65 x 5
85 x 5
100 x 5 x 3 sets
DB BENCH (SGSS WK 4)
75 x 5 x 3 sets
RFESS (REHAB)
BW x 12 ea x 4 sets
No rest, just switch legs.
CABLE FLY (mTor)
40 x 10
50 x 10
60 x 11 + 15 sec stretch/hold
LATERAL CABLE RAISE (1 heavy, then 21’s)
30 x 10 heavy set
20 x 7F/7T/7B
20 x 7F/5T/7B
DIPS (mTor)
BW x 8, 7, 5 + 10 sec hold
Didn’t exactly take it easy on shoulders but overall volume was down with this being the three set day of SGSS for OHP and DB Bench. Those three sets of lat raises were all difficult and the 21’s hurt. Those bottom half reps were basically all failed half reps.
ELLIPTICAL
20 min Interval, L7/i7 : L14/i14, 2:1 ratio, 2.00 miles, 20 minutes
We’ve changed our plans a bit and we will be going out to eat with my brother and his family tonight instead of going to my wife’s relative’s high school graduation party. That means we’re eating out, and I suck at eating out. I won’t be eating much today. I think I’ve had enough to help my body do its thing with training._
Breakfast: Double protein shake and 1 banana
Post-Workout: 200g veggie pasta with sauce and 10 ounces of chicken
Totals thus far: 870 cals, 72g carbs, 9g fat, 123g protein
I plan to have a double vegan shake before the graduation ceremony in a couple hours. That’ll be another 220 cals and about 50g of protein. That’ll leave me about 1300 calories for dinner to hit my target of 2440………or about 1800 calories to be closer to maintenance. I’m not logging my food at dinner so who knows where I’ll land. I just want to give myself a chance. I’m doing so well but I’m also craving a cheat meal.
Sub 200 by the start of summer season ![]()
Go have fun tonight J.
I’ll be eating for maintenance once I have surgery. I don’t want to intentionally put myself at a deficit while my arm is in a sling. My muscles will shrink but I don’t want to help them by not eating enough.
Well, dinner was a disaster. ![]()
We had chips and queso for an appetizer. My meal was the haystack. It’s an open face burger covered in fries and queso. I was full before I even found the burger. Tonight was a rarity - I didn’t finish my food. I had an entire serving of fries left when I threw in the towel. I’m pretty sure I ate a day’s worth of calories in one sitting.
Do you find you can’t eat as much after cutting so long? I just got full eating cauliflower and chicken. ![]()
I’ve definitely experienced “stomach shrinkage” after a long cut. Although my “dessert stomach” never seems to shrink.
I haven’t allowed my dessert stomach any dessert in awhile! I have a sneaking suspicion I could still eat two pints of Ben & Jerrys tho.
For sure. On a big chocolate fudge cake. With some fresh berries because, you know, health and stuff.
Nice eating there J, a bit disappointed you had to leave any food left.
You could have rest paused it at the end ![]()
Yeah the dessert stomach never shrinks.
I’ve never noticed anything like that. Maybe? I thought I just filled up on chips.
5.12. 19
Woke at 211.6 lbs.
So, I’d typically say a 4.2 lb increase after one bad meal is a bad day, but I did say just last week that I wanted my fat days to be 211-212 instead of 217. So, I guess this is a small victory.
Greed is getting the best of me and now I wish my bad days were 208, meaning that I was about 205 to start
.
I know I’ll be good by Wednesday. This splurge might even help me get to 205 this week. Who knows? I was 207 yesterday so it’s possible due to my extra effort it’s taking to digest last night’s meal.
