Where did you dig up this ‘fact’? How is it - exactly - that Bush is destroting this country?
One positive thing is the tax-cuts. Another might be pulling us out of a recession that was handed to him in 2000.
Still another might be the leadership he displayed a little over 3 years ago.
…It’s so simple, and I’m proud to say that I have not met one Republican in my age group 18-25 years old in Miami, FL.
Your last statement pretty well sums it all up. You are a young head full of mush who has undoubtedly listened to his teachers instead of forming his own thoughts. That unsubstantiated line of bullshit might get you an ‘A’ in Poly-Sci, but your gonna have to try harder here, son.

LMAO, you conveniently diregarded the fact that America was lied to. And we have body bags coming home from a WAR. Maybe republicans don’t understand what WAR is because they DO NOT value the lives of other human beings. Well, I do and so do most other humane people in this country.
No - I didn’t conveniently leave out anything. You see, son - when you engage in a debate like we grown-ups do, you can’t make accusations without some proof to back up your charges.
The whole Bush-Lied-Soldiers-Died crap is a little bit played. Seems that the only folks who swallowed it was young, impressionable punks who’ve never had a job, and think that they have all the answers.
You made the charge, sparky - you have to bring it with some proof.
Better yet - why don’t you just shut up and finish coloring in your “Now I Can Vote” coloring book.
To be serious for a moment (and only a moment) I think that hate breeds these types of kids.
They go see things like the Moore film and drink it up (Kool Aid reference). They sit starry eyed in a class room full of captive listeners and gobble up all of their liberal Professors anti-Bush hate lines. On and on…
When your entire political stance is based upon hate, facts are often the first casualty!
I promise there have been more people killed in America in car accidents in the same timeframe as have died in Iraq. That being said I will cast my vote for James Jones (fictional) who is a leading american distance runner who is running on the platform of banning all motorized vehicles. He will combat the two leading causes of death in america by making people run everywhere. In a recent interview jones said this “By outlawing cars nobody will die in car accidents and the obesity problem will be cured in america! This will also solve the healthcare problem and we will win more gold medals in the next Olypics!”
See if you just trust the facts with a little logic applied the decision of who to vote for becomes clear.
Unfortunately, at this stage I don’t think there is any one “answer man”, regardless of party. In short, we a mired in some pretty deep sh** that is going to take far more than one lousy term of office to shovel up.
And no, we aren’t necessarily voting for Kerry. I actually match opinions with Dennis Kucinich on almost every issue, but a vote for anyone but Kerry is unfortunately, a vote for Bush. Lesser of two evils, maybe. But, hopefully, G.W. won’t win this election, either.

Which is to say that college educated professionals like myself DON’T feel that way?? Well, we do.
My rant: I’m tired of seeing news stories about the war at all. They are horrific, and frightening and spun out of control. While brave people are over there doing braver things, we see bombings and killings on both sides. We don’t see kids going to school and getting vaccines for the first time ever, or clean water running to new hospitals. Nope- good stuff doesn’t sell. HOWEVER- while I have great pride in and respect for our soldiers overseas, seeing kids- KIDS, fresh out of high school- going to war and dying, I think we’d be totally remiss if we didn’t ask to know EXACTLY WHY.
And right now, I don’t think the Bush camp could really answer that without stuttering.
My problem the the college kid is not that he thinks Bush lied - there’s an entire party that has accused him of this.
My problem with him, or anyone who hasn’t the cerebral capacity to form a reasoned thought, is this - Just because it is easy to swallow the drivel that is spoon fed to you by the media doesn’t make what you see or hear the truth.
The people spooning this crap have an agenda - why can’t such supposedly educated people see this?
Go to the 'Good News From Iraq" thread and follow some of the links posted by BB that chronicle some of the goings on in Iraq - written by Iraqis.
If you are educated as you say, then quit sucking on milk toast, put on your thinking cap, and quit believing everything you see on CBS.

ZEB? Where are you? You better pay better attention as the Captain of the “Hateful Post Police.”

I think I’m getting it now…news that opposes your viewpoints is bad. News that substantiates your viewpoints is good. Wow, guys, this IS simple!
ZEB, I’m dropping out of my current institution and going wherever you went…where was that again? and what did you major in? Just curious…[/quote]
What news, RSU? The kid is spewing opinion that he heard from his professor. He made the first charge - and I have absolutely no patience for those who make a charge, then offer no proof.
Count how many times he said, “It’s a fact…” in his previous two posts. He then assumes that just because he said it was a fact made it true.
If I hurt his feelings or upset anyone with my cruel talk- well, tough shit. This IS t-nation.

Hey, it isn’t me who minds! ZEB is the man who considers speech far less invasive than this “hateful,” so I wonder what he calls this, or bilt calling MoDowd a cocksucker?
He won’t answer, though, and his reason is now because I won’t bet him.
I don’t think there is any place on a message board for the sort of talk which you have described.
With that stated, I think it ought to be open season on you (at least for a while). No on on this board has been (on a regular basis) more vengeful, hateful, sarcastic and immature than you!
You have no idea who I would vote for? Seriously? Hmm…well to give you a hint I challenged RSU to bet me on the election. I would take Bush and he Kerry. Does this give you a clue as to whom I would vote for?
Sorry if this entire sorry mess confuses you, I can see your point in a way. If it wasn’t so much fun I would stop.
