Also, tomorrow the local community of surfers, kayakers, swimmers, and just overall able-bodied people are having a swimout at the beach as a tribute to Junior. I am tempted to go, I can’t surf for shit, but figure that swimming out would be good enough.
This event has tore up this community, I saw alot of Charger, USC, and #55 jerseys being worn or hanging in windows of local shops and businesses.
I was thinking about this for a moment, I played football for 11 years, Junior played it for at least 25 when you add up high school, college, and pro. Perhaps the idea of not playing anymore, almost as if it he lost his identity, is what propelled him to do this. More than half his life he was a football God, then one day he isn’t. Just sayin’.
It has been speculated that he purposefully shot himself in the chest so that his brain could be examined post-mortem. The coroner has already determined it was a suicide.

FYP
No you didn’t but thanks for trying.
Don’t be offended but the bottom line is neither you nor Delbert KNOWS that he shot himself in the chest so his brain could be studied. Sheesh folks, it may be true but at this point it’s sheer SPECULATION. Call a spade a spade.

The ace of spades and the 3 of spades don’t have the same value.
Of course my hypothesis is speculation. But I’m not speculating on the least likely of the possible scenarios. To speculate that someone who was in a position to suffer CTE committed suicide (a fallout from severe depression and mood swings, which is a major symptom of CTE) is hardly the same as speculating that he was murdered and that driving off a cliff with no drugs or alcohol in his system, just hours after assaulting his girlfriend in an uncharacteristic act of violence, was a simple accident.
That is NOT the media, that’s some d-bag blogger.
The difference being?
Franz you’re so witty… the difference being that any asshole - like you - could start a blog and say whatever they want. The media can’t do that.
Well, this “asshole” could start a newspaper and print whatever he wanted.
Would not make it any more or less valid.
Sorry that your job is under siege, personally I appreciate it, as a matter or principle.
If you can write and have something to say you will do fine.
If not, sorry that all the established, what was it, assholes !?!, lied to you.

I would be shocked if this was related to anything other than post-concussion issues. He probably knew it too, which is why he shot himself in the chest and not the head.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he was having financial issues as well.
ex wife and 3 kids is probably a HELL of a lot of child support going out… he also had at least two “Seau’s” restaurants that went under recently.

Yeah, but I highly suspect that the reason he shot himself in the chest was because he knew deep down that his mental issues (assuming he had any, of course) were concussion-related. If he blew his brains out a gaping hole in the back of his head then an autopsy wouldn’t confirm anything about neurological damage to the brain.
I wouldn’t be surprised if his car accident in 2010 was a failed suicide attempt, either. He drove off a 100’ cliff shortly after he was arrested for domestic violence, yet had no traces of drugs or alcohol in his system. It wouldn’t shock me if the assault was the result of intense mood swings related to chronic traumatic encephalopathy.
Or maybe he didn’t want to make his mama bury him with a closed casket.
It’s a mighty big stretch on all the brain injury conjecture till more evidence is found.
It’s not a mighty big stretch at all. It’s most likely EXACTLY what was going on. We’re talking about a guy who suffered probably thousands of blows to the head. And we know that CTE leads to massive depression. Furthermore, he isn’t the only former player to commit suicide in a manner that preserves their brain and whose autopsy showed they suffered severe brain damage.
Give me a fucking break with all this “let’s wait until all the evidence is in” bullshit. The evidence that is in so far clearly points to the scenario I described as being the most likely possibility. The fact is that it’s quite a stretch to argue that anything other than this is what occurred.
Gee whiz, who let Barnaby Jones out of the nursing home?
Obviously very early but I’d imagine the NFL will get all over this. They need to do something or long term football will be a dying sport. My kid plays but there are quite a few parents at the school that are worried about this even at the high school level and don’t let their kids play. I’d imagine that sentiment will grow.
