Good point Kir; that box jump, as impressive as it is, doesn’t necessarily correlate to a big vert. His knees are tucked about as tight into his chest at the top as can be. 30 is about average for a ball player. When I was in a pro summer league camp in the early 90’s - most guys tested right around 30-32. The guys with high 30’s were the exception and only three topped 40 if I remember correctly and it wasn’t by much (mine was 38). Even at 38 (and it improved a little from there) though, I don’t know if I could get up on a box that high from a dead standstill - my best jumping ability was with a counter or drop step. But even with a drop step, at 275, I can easily jump atop a commercial reverse hyper machine with very little knee tuck at the top (I’m not that flexible)…the point? His vert is not necessarily “insane”…but impressive box jump nonetheless and great squat numbers.
By the way Kirdog…do you KNOW what a KIRDOG is? I suspect you have “kir” in your name somewhere (Kirk perhaps?)…but KIRDOG (CUR DOG) is the opposite of GAMEDOG!..just letting you know what it SOUNDS like.
While everybody’s eating and taking a break during an all day olympic lifting clinic, Jonathan is still in the weight room jumping around and bouncing with weight, way to go man!

I had no idea what a cur dog was until you pointed it out, I just did a google search.
Kir Dog is just what my closest buddies have been calling me for years. It’s just a stupid nickname stemmed and distorded from my birth name.
