Im not sure if this has been posted yet but can you give us an update regarding where your calories/macros are at right now?
They have stayed at 4800 for a while as I needed to stay pretty lean, I actually posted the full on my fb page
We will most likely be upping the cals very soon and try and make me grow as much as we can until january
Started following your FB. Good stuff on there. I saw your diet you posted, was this supposed to say 3800 instead of 4800? That would make a little more sense lol.
3800 off days 4700 on days actually
Right now I have 2 off days, but half the time I have 0 off day lol
Damn thats impressive. Especially considering how clean you eat when “bulking.”
A lot of people will probably disagree with this and thats fine im not looking into converting anyone but I really feel like you make “better” gains when you dont eat crap during the offseason and have “good” carbs and fat sources

Let’s trade calves man, I can’t get mine to grow no matter what
lol you’ll hate me for that but this is after 2weeks back to training them… I hadnt touch them since my contest 5.5 months ago… so this is like a “before” pic… i’m thinking i can get 1-1.5inch on them by the time its time to prep lol…
I think I was doing for the past 2-3 months what you’re going to be doing for them. I got it from John’s site and it involved hitting calves everyday so it’s probably similar… and they didn’t grow lol. They kinda just stopped growing at some point and the rest of me continued to blow up. I’ll go on stage with boots or something if I compete i guess. I put a log up in the logs section and threw some pics up, I’d like to hear what you have to say regarding what I have to bring up

zraw, do you have any problems training calves that much? I’m really prone to plantar faciitis, so training them frequently wrecks my feet. Are you allowed to share what you have been doing for calves?

I’m not zraw but try getting shoes that really support you, the otomix brand would work. I did calves every day for 2 months and it got painful sometimes in the bottom of my feet but shoes with good support helped me.

Thanks, I’ll look into that. I usually lift in Nike basketball shoes or chucks, so not much support there.

One thing JM wanted to work on during offseason was chest thickness… I think we are on the right path lol
Can you go into more detail about this? How does one define ‘chest thickness’ and how does one work to increase?
Tore my pec twice about 2 years ago, I have never been right since. 12 weeks after my first MD 12 week training cycle my chest is almost back to its old size and I am pain free, but it is still my number 1 priority for my next gain cycle so I am really curious to hear your ideas on this.

I really cannot back this with anything… really… but I really think that squeezing the pecs HARD at the end of a rep wether it be flyes or pressing helps drive more blood to the chest and plays a big role in making it thicker… while as working on the stretch doesnt do the same thing, imo.
I have nothing to back this up except how I look and feel loll

No problem as it isnt that many sets
4x week
3x week : Calves raises x 10 adding weight until you cant keep going
supersetted with (count that as 4 sets as last 4 should be hard)
dorsiflexion x max (until it goes numb)
1x week : Same thing with seated calves raise
last set 20 partials from bottom too
Every other week
same exercises
but
3sets of 30 but every 10reps you hold the flexed contraction for 10secs
supersetted with dorsiflexions

That last line usually is enough to justify something on an individual basis. Thanks.
Man i made this today after some FMC, fuckin awesome! Had to stick with 3 slices and 3 eggs instead of four to fit it within my current diet but once im back to bulking in 4 weeks this is going to be my regular breakfast on weekends lol
By the way, my local supermarkets (Target, Jewel) sell a couple different 0 sugar maple syrups that are only 30 calories per 1/4 cup, and they taste freaking awesome. WAY better than Walden Farms.
