Julien G 2014 Contest Prep(s) Thread

Yep,can’t wait for an update big guy…

From 2 days ago.

Mini preview pic .

Btw only uploading this for the people who don’t have him on FB as he has been quiet here but still active on there.

He must work out…

While we’re sharing photos on Mr. G’s behalf, here’s the freaky side chest from my post above.

Don’t know his exact placing plus he was in the 2nd call out of the heavies.

He’s now 13 weeks out from provincials light heavies.

While I know he didn’t place as well as he’d like, he did make a point to acknowledge how much progress he’s made since his last showing, and how good he felt he looked.

As any competitor knows, you never know who else will show up, or what each class will break down looking like. In this case, I think (and this is MY opinion as someone who truly is proud of what Z has done) that had he pushed a it more (suffered? -lol) to make it into the light heavies instead of the heavyweights, things could have worked out with a much higher placing. Of course as someone who has personally always killed himself to duck under a weight limit (I’ve usually been less than a l under the upper cut-off for weigh-ins), I will acknowledge that even banking on being the biggest guy in your class still isn’t a 100% lock.

Anyone who has seen any of the recent pics online will tell you, forget the actual placings, Zraw looked great.

Dang, Julien. You looked great. Congrats on the improvements since last year…20lbs of stage weight is nuts! I echo what Stu says. Be proud, man, you nailed it. Provincials will be your show!

Can’t wait to hear an update, keep pushing it!

Competitive bodybuilding seems odd to me in some senses. First of all, judging seems more subjective than in other sports. Second, you’ve got the issue of competition from show to show and class to class that can vary a ton. I guess in the end self improvement and competing in tougher and tougher shows would be the better measure.

Anyways, congrats Zraw, your progress this past year has been just ridiculous.
