Of course calling Obama a vertebrate is racist!

Don’t you remember that time in American history where we enslaved Africans and would compare them to vertebrates as a way of dehumanizing then? I don’t want to get too offensive you guys, but I’m sure you’ve heard the term “Porch Vertebrate” to describe African Americans before. Believe it or not, this expression is actually an historically rooted term dating back to the 17th, 18th, and 19th century when slavery was legal! Crazy right?

In fact, now that I think about, I guess there isn’t any specific cultural or etymological history of oppressing black people by comparing them to a less intelligent species. My bad guys!

God, George Bush was a SUCH a nigger, though.
At least be funny when you troll please.

Americans rarely talk about Europe. How many threads in the last 5 years have revolved around Europe?
My favorite thing about European criticism of American politics is the extent to which our friends across the pond are existentially indebted to us with each passing day. I am not talking about the World Wars. Rather I refer to the fact that the present balance of the world remains in Western favor by way and only by way of American might and influence. To take one small example, I was just reading a book in which the argument was made that EU member states have become so techno-militarily dependent on the U.S. that they essentially can’t conduct more than a minor military operation without American help. Like I said, that’s just one tiny example.

So, the next time a European makes to hate on the terrible racist 'Murican people (and certainly there are many terrible and racist Americans – as if the same could not be said of the hooligans who join in Nazi chants after soccer games in Europe), please go ahead. But remember, while you do, that those 'Murican people pay and sink into debt and volunteer for a (yes, flawed) government and military apparatus without which you are an infant left to be suckled or mauled by real wolves.

This is a general note and not very much related to what’s being said in this thread, because I don’t care enough to follow it on the details.
Ya, but they’re more cultured then us so they’ve got that going for them…
Why are you so defensive? Why is any criticism of your country met with defensive tales of WW2 or snide jibes about Europe? When people call Europe a shithole racist continent I don’t go oh yeah well Americans are fat!
Criticism of racism in America is not criticism of America as a whole.

Also if this is the case is the U.S forever in the debt of France?

The fact that we now have two intellectually lazy people trying to project other random people on the internet being “racist” onto those on this board who just generally don’t like Obama, rather than offering in any way some sort of “hey Obama is actually good at XYZ” is very telling.

The idea that “you just don’t like him because he’s black” should be taken serious when stated on a predominately Anti-Contemporary AMerica Liberal board is laughable on its face.

If you can’t defend Obama in any fashion beyond “you’re a racist” you have no place discussing politics amongst others.

This thread is starting to look like the comments on Slate, or Being Liberal on facebook.

“Hoe hum, I can’t actually provide any basis for my argument, I’ll just call them racists because he’s black. That will shut them up.”
SexMachine wrote:
Those tea party “racist” signs are clearly leftists trolling. Right-wingers troll leftist marches too but they just make fun of them instead of planting phoney “racists” to try to discredit them.
More conspiracy theories.

I don’t support Obama, I just acknowledge open chauvanist jibes leveled at him by conspiracy driven right winders who claim he is a secret muslim trying to steal guns and who coincidentally use terms like Obummer or Obomber and are then offended anyone suspects them of being racists.

Yeah. Muslamic ray guns. They’re bringing their ray guns down on us. Totally legit. Leftists trolling.

Oh and by the way I think the U.S is the freest and most democratic society on earth, is built on the best framework in the constitution and is far better than where I live.

I also think when people get defensive and chauvinist the likes of Thomas Paine and those whose ideas and words lead to the current society you were just lucky enough to be born into, roll over in their graves.
Tom Paine was more progressive than many posters in this thread. When a dude who died 200 years ago is more forward thinking than you in 2015 you might have some issues.

Wait, what? I hate Obama and his administration’s choices over the last six years, too! AND I think we should be allowed to call him a monkey.

PS: I’m also glad that those two issues are inseparable.

Funny is a really tall order for most people, though, Beans.

You kinda have to be smart before you can be funny on purpose.

And legitimate trolling is hard work. I’d say most people who pass themselves off as trolls are actually gnomes and goblins. Maybe even orcs.

But not Mordor orcs. We’re talking Moria orcs. The skinny pallid ones who dare not come out into the light.

Anyway:

I’m not sure if the world just imploded, or I’m forced to agree with either Vox or Obama.

Not a bad write-up, even though I can’t stand the Vox narrative.

Bud, you are clearly either still in university or just out of it.

Because like Bismark, you are simply regurgitating the liberal porridge that you were spoon fed over the last 4 years.

Sometimes it is better to listen and learn, rather than assume you have enough real world experience to form a coherent opinion.

I started working straight from school. Nice try. Now insult me for not going to University. Multi pronged attack.

I think I did, in my first response to you a couple pages back:

Yeah, we’re racist.

So what?
