Hmm, we were sending people we detained to Syria and Jordan back around 03’ because they take the gloves off over with their torture/ interrogations.
Now, we are sitting around wondering if it’s a good thing that Jordan responds to executions/ murder of a person with murder of two other people… not that the people murdered in Jordan were in the big picture innocent The point is they were killed in vengeance over something they had nothing to do with.
These are all Islamic States we are dealing with. None of them have good reputations when it comes to human rights issues, and they all seem to act like a bunch of savages in the name of their God.
For us to be supportive of this is kinda weird, I don’t have any pity for the people executed by Jordan because they were scum, but I have a really big problem with the precedent of supporting it. It’s a completely, twisted and savage form of justice.

I completely support the decision to publicly hang the prisoners. I just wish they had killed all of them.
Also, in what I am sure is a PR coup, King Abdullah led a bombing raid the next morning, in person. Abdullah for King! …wait…
King Abdullah is a certified badass. He is in my mind the Vladimir Putin of the Middle East.
A general, a special forces officer, and, as we see, a hotshot combat pilot.
Firearms enthusiasts might be interested to know that he is also the world’s only head of state to have been certified by Jeff Cooper at Gunsite training centre, and as such is more qualified in the use of his sidearm than his own bodyguards, or even than the Secret Service.
Good to see that some countries have actual men for leaders.

That looks like one hell of a leader. Didn’t he quote Clint Eastwood too?

Haven’t forgot. Remember I said “the Vladimir Putin of the Middle East”. Putin rides a chopper, and although he is currently unmarried, rumour has it he’s been dallying with Alina Kabayeva, a gorgeous Uzbek gymnast half his age.

Sev, Sev, Sev, Sev, Sev, Sev, Sev, Sev, you are one of the few that consistently gets it wrong 'round here. Good grief, if “the people murdered in Jordan were (not) in the big picture innocent,” it ain’t murder.
And if you’d done your homework before launching your usual barrage of inaccuracies you’d’ve known the captives were already on death row. Jordan just hastened The Day.
And speaking of “not innocent” can we imagine anyone in the Milky Way more “not innocent” than a couple of beasts straight from the Hell that is ISIS?

Pushy pushy pushy pushy… What part of my post did you not understand about the people hanged not being causally tied to the incident of the burning? I said that did I not?
I didn’t say that crazy bomber lady was innocent, she’s simply not connected to the burning in the right way for there to be some kind of justice about that incident.
As with some of what you have sited, I’m sure the scumbags that make up ISIS have some fucked up interpretation that justifies the burning of that dude in their tiny minds. Just as, the response of hanging in revenge can be justified.
End of the day, the act of killing in revenge like that isn’t tied to any sort of justice we should be comfortable with. What’s next? Punishing next of kin for shit?

You did get this part right! Yee ha!
[waiting now for typical claptrap akin to “Yeah but, Christians have murdered millions and millions and millions of people over the centuries”]
I in now way feel this is a justification for ISIS or AQ, but I have always thought that this time period of Islamic fanaticism has a parallel to the crusades.
After some thought, I’m in full support of Jordan’s response, especially their King’s suiting up to personally bring the war to them. Originally I was concerned that it would somehow escalate into more than a regional issue, but its already there. Muslims killing Muslims is a really big deal there, and I’m surprised its been so far essentially ignored regionally. Hopefully Jordan will lead the way in cleaning up their own backyard and bring real force to the area instead of the half measures we’ve see so far. Most of that area generally wants western forces out of the area, so taking care of their own business would be a big step in achieving that.
