Joint Pain

For the past 2 weeks, I’ve been experiencing joint pain, pretty much all over (knees, elbows, shoulder, neck) and am trying to determine the cause. For the past three weeks, I have been taking Biotest BCAA’s and Flameout. I have also been doing Charles Poliquin’s GVT for the past 4 weeks.

I’ve done a workout like this before, but never had joint pain. I’ve never taken these supps before together.

I know, odds are it’s the workout, but I just wanted to check if anyone else is noticing anything.

Thanks!!!

How old are you?

I’d say it’s the workout.

When I take on a heavy program I immediately up my dosages of glucosamine/chondroitin(sp?).

And do yourselve a favor - look up a product called Biofreeze.
This stuff is absolutely fant-freakin-tastic for pain relief (without using OTC pain killers like asprin, advil and tylenol).
Great for achy joints or even really sore muscles.
The roll-on variety sucks, too watery. Use the pump gel or get the little packets which are easy to toss in your gym bag.

I had serious issues with knee pain. I pretty much eliminated that with a combination of the following:

  • Flameout or massive doses of regular fish oil
  • glucosamin tablets
  • better and more thorough warm-up procedures
  • knee wraps

I took the last week off from lifting and supplements and my knees hurt a bit yesterday. Today I’m going back to my regular schedule (lifting + supplements) and we’ll see how that goes.

T boosters such as TRIBEX seemed to have a positive impact too, but I’m not yet sure exactly how much. And you can’t take them 24/7 anyway.

Thanks guys. I’ll make some tweaks and see what happens.

How much do you take normally and when on a heavy program?

I can only repeat on this thread what has helped me in my quest to have pain free joints (and I’ve nearly made it):

1-Fish Oil- 6 grams per day.

2-Glucosamine 2 grams per day

3-MSM 3 grams per day

4- Boswellia extract 1,500 milligrams per day

In addition to this I always make sure that I soak in a pool temp about 78 degrees at least once per week. And I get a massage regularly.

I wish you the best joint pain can be debilitating and depressing. And isn’t there enough things in life that are depressing without your own body turning against you?

Here’s to a pain free 07’

Are you coming down with a flu? or a cold?

If I have more than one type of joint aching I know I’m going to be sick, if i don’t take preventative measures.

Dan John said if you cut out any sort of grains from your diet that can help a lot in getting rid of joint pain.
