i’m in! i lift multi ply so i probably won’t test my raw max all that often. might have to do a raw meet sooner or later to test it out
hit 345 for 16 today, a pr for me at 345,previous best at 345 two months ago when i started 5/3/1 was 9 reps, easily couldve gotten another one or two today but i lost my grip on 17, 3rd week 5/3/1 next week, 365 for reps
I’ll have it by the end of the month. This is long overdue for me. My squat is almost equal to my deadlift at this point, and that shit just won’t fly.
damn you lighter dudes are powerhouses… putting up some good weight.
515x5 = 237 lbs 5’8 2 days ago

There’s a 600lb thread. It hasn’t had a ton of traffic because progress is slower and not as many people are at that level but it’s worth checking out.
thanks then my dude ill hope in there… thats a big gap… 600lbs lol
If you maxed out, you’d have something close to a 6 plate DL wouldn’t you?
Im in, best pull 465 x 1, after next weeks pt test, training deads tommorow will post video
hit 365x10 at 183, had another 2 in me but the beer from the night before and coffee from just before didnt mix too well. Hoping hit 500 fairly soon, attempting to see where im at next month.
I just started dead lifting in April.
Best pull is 455. I’m a bigger guy, about 295, so I’m a little ashamed I can’t pull more.
This was a few months ago. I’m training to get into the Power Lifting scene. First meet is coming up in Nov. Ideally I’d like to hit 500 by then.

You are probably right, but i have to say i’ve never tried, last year i pulled a raw deadlift at 535 lbs, bodyweight=222 lbs. so you could very well be right
Gotta get my dead up. Can’t budge more then 405 off the ground. Maybe I will try rack pulls or a belt yees.
Maxing out next monday, I’m hoping to get as close to 500 as possible. We will see what happens
best of luck to you brother, and make sure you post a vid!@
I’m in. Would love to get to 5 plates. Current training PR is 435 no belt sumo off 1" blocks at 5’ 8", 148 lbs. Laid off deadlifts the last month though to run a smolov cycle for my immensely lagging squat before my next meet, so hoping I can still be close to that number next time I pull heavy. I’ll probably post a meet vid to the thread when I get there.
Can we use straps?
I switched to straps yrs ago because I wasnt going to do any contests. MY current MAX is 470lbs SGDL.
I will switch to conventional – after some adjusting-- I should be doing 5 plates soon.
I broke the 5 plate barrier a couple months ago with a grinder.
I’ve been cutting, but I swear putting a focus on RDLs has done wonders for my deadlift.
Pulled 495@190 (belt) yesterday very smooth. Might be sitting around a 515-525 max now.
Fixing weak links in the chain led to massive improvement for me.
So close, but no cigar
Smashed a 465 deadlift first, which was a 10 lb Pr.
Then made a bad attempt at 500. Didn’t focus, got into a bad start position, and barely broke the floor. Focused up, and made a second attempt… I was so close, but just couldn’t lock it out. But that’s okay, next time I’ll have it. Still feel good about how fast the 465 PR was.
Worked up to 405 for two sets of three today…I have never attempted a deadlift of over 350 in my life and this is only the third week I have resumed deadlifting in about a year (I have a serious hip problem). Saw this thread before my workout and figured I would go for it. Hoping to continue my quick progress.
Amayakyrol…how exactly do you program your RDL to benefit your DL? I just use them as an accessory after DL.
Do you work up to heavy singles? Triples?
