John Wooden (1910-2010)-A Tribute

Didn’t think RIP was appropriate considering he had a damn good innings.

Some solid gold from the GOAT:

His seven point creed makes more sense as every year passes:

* Be true to yourself.
* Make each day your masterpiece.
* Help others.
* Drink deeply from good books, especially the Bible.
* Make friendship a fine art.
* Build a shelter against a rainy day.
* Pray for guidance and give thanks for your blessings every day.

thanks for the post. Was one of the greatest individuals this country has ever known. I have read his book “Wooden” for over 10 years now and his lessons will never go out of style or lose their significance.

I’ve always enjoyed his Dad’s ‘2 Sets of 3’

Never lie
Never cheat
Never steal

Don’t whine
Don’t complain
Don’t make excuses.

He might be the most influential person in recent sports history, I was surprised that his passing did not receive a lot more attention than it did.
