JJackKrash's Training/Ski Log

Glad your feeling a bit better. Being sick just sucks. As if the feeling itself wasn’t bad enough, it keeps you from doing fun/good stuff.

No golf for me, I banned myself from all of the courses…in the interest of public safety.

Catching up with you Jack. Love your training, hate your sick. The damn spring cold/sinus/ allergy thing sucks. Hope you get through it soon and enjoy the prowler and stuff.

Well, you found the upside to sickness – weight loss. Glad you are on the mend.

I think your nutrition ideas (its not a “diet” you are just doing some cutting) make alot of sense. I’ve gotten alot of benefit from drinking water or green tea instead of stuff with calories in it, and cutting out sugar and flour (breads, pastas, etc.). Lots of meat, dairy, fruit and veggies is actually a tasty way to live, with the occasional splurge to satisfy a craving for badness.

Heal up.

Thanks Skip. I thank you and the public thanks you.

JW, good to see you back in the game. Thanks for stopping in.

Kimba, thanks for the tips. Given the photos in your log, i’ll take any nutrition ideas I can get from you. Thanks.

Harry, “I’m feeling much better.” Hopefully they won’t conk me over the head and haul me off anyway.

Hopefully, I’ll get back in the gym today and start a new cycle. I am still waiting for the econo-prowler, but I just ordered one of these:

I have it on good authority that this is the bees knees.

Getting some cred for my pix? Nice. I’ll take that.

Just another thought: it doesn’t take big changes in your nutrition to lean down some. My husband used to drink mugs full of fruit juice. He’s cut out that one thing and leaned down quite a bit. If there is a daily caloric habit that you have, try cutting out just that and see how you go.

I think the illness was caused by rowing in Crocs. They are a reprehensible footwear selection and you should be beaten for wearing them.

I agree with Kimba on the diet changes. You’d be surprised how much long term change can be made by eliminating something seemingly innocuous in your diet. Write down everything you eat and eliminate an empty item. Juice, like her example is a big sugar loaded death in a cup. I feel like I’m getting diabetes just looking at it. I’d rather take the calories from cheese than juice.

You getting all cut up so you can get the speedo out??

laying in bed because of a sinus thingy? sounds like the excuse of some west coast lawyer type:)

just kidding buddy.

Feel better, you are going to have fun with the prowler. You have plates already? craigslist seems the place to find some cheap plates.

Jack- you got a prowler?..jealously reigns supreme on the east coast right now…Let me know what you think of it…I have been tempted but I really don’t have a good place to do it ( excuse #78)…actually I am just scared of it!

Prowlers, sinus infections, cutting… oh the horror… the horror!!

the prowler rules, and 1/2 the fun in locating parking lots in which to push it.

Still working hard and getting stronger. Glad you got over the crud before they could haul you off. Its also a good thing you didn’t get turned into a newt.

Kimba, thanks for the tips. I just need to be aggressive on cutting out crap and make sure to choke down eggs in the morning. If I skip the eggs, I get so fucking hungry that I will eat myself into a coma.

Ms. O, I’ll switch to Jesus Cruisers on the rows.

Steve, better watch it with the speedo comments or I will post some pics on here that will make everyone uncomfortable.

Pete, I have a whole stack of plates that I used for ballast on the move out here. The 3 week order wait is killing me.

OG and JW, the prowler is not here yet, but I can’t wait.

Carl, I did get turned into a newt–but I got better.

5’s day, Deads, TM 450.

45 x 10, 135 x 10, 225 x 7, 295 x5, 335 x5, 385 x 5.

Notes: Both my strength and conditioning levels are in the toilet. I am still not feeling right, and my food intake has been lower. I got the chilly sweats real early–not the kind you normally get from hard exercise. At least my belt fit a bit looser. 385 x5 was all I could muster, and I had to rest a bit after 3 to get the 5. I may have to reset my maxes.

That looks like the ticket!

I’m thinking of modifying my PVC roller with some screws and nuts based on that design.

OMP, you are too funny.

I’m happy for company on the Reset-Max train, on which the only snacks provided are bitter pills. But I think you just aren’t 100% well yet.

Kimba, thanks, but I think I just got weaker, plain and simple.

5-5-5 Press Day, TM 195.

Press: 45 x 20, 95 x 10, 125 x 5, 145 x 5, 165 x 5, 125 x 10, 7, 7, 4.

NG Chins: 6, 5, 5, 4, 3.

Lat Pull Downs (behind neck): 150 x 10, 7, 120 x 10, 10, 7.

Notes: Meh.

Side notes: Still no prowler and no medieval-torture-device foam roller.

Nice work…and a lot of volume on the presses. And the strength will come back around.
