120lb Krocs? Massive. Just massive. I’m assuming strapless, too. I’m jealous of your grip.
Hey Jack, just decided to come and bitch on your thread for a minute 8*)
Great workouts! I used to spend some time in the NW. hate it and love it at the same time. people who don’t go there wonder why there is a such a coffee culture. I have always told them because since it always cloudy and raining, if you arent wired on caffiene, you’d have a gun in your mouth.
Sorry about the job thing. its happened to me so many times I lost count. the next one will come, just try to avoid all the self-hatred and stuff until then.
Thanks Eco and MCL–and yes, the Kroc’s were strapless. I had a real tough time holding onto them on the last two sets and my upper back is still feeling it.
MJ–you are welcome to come bitch in my thread anytime! And yes, the only way to avoid shooting yourself in the PacNW is to down good coffee all day long.

Wave 5, week 1, squats. TM 340. 5-5-5, 65, 75, 85%. Squats only today, going to press tomorrow and got to 4 days a week.
Time in: 8:35
Time Out: 9:55
Weight: 219 (making Dave Tate proud)
Squats: 45 x10, 90 x10, 135 x5, 185 x3, 225 x5, 255 x5, 290 x15.
Zerchers (Low Pins): 135 x1, 185 x1, 225 x1, 275 x1, 315 x1.
Front Squats: 185 x 10, 10, 10, 10, 10.
l
Notes: That’s it. I was flat-out shaking after the session. The money set felt really good, every rep was below parallel and controlled going down and I was working Meat’s lesson plan on body position. I banged out 11 without really breathing or any rest on top and then banged out 4 more. But I really felt it afterwords and didn’t catch my breath until the session was over. Zerchers felt good. I opted not to try 335 again because I wanted something in the tank for front squats. Front squats–they were a bitch. Pretty much ATG on every rep with tall body position but I started dreading them after the first set. It was a real mental battle to finish all 50 reps. And It was the first time I have finished 5 sets of 10 with 185. All-in-all, one of the best sessions I have had in a while. Then I had a massive omelette and 6 pancakes at original pancake house, plus the left overs from my wife and boy’s plate. Presses and dips and other BS tomorrow.
Great session, JJ! Sorry to hear about the job problems. Hope the move settles things out for the best.

That’s a lot of rep, brother. Really great work! Chasing it with zerchers AND front squats is a killer.

Notes: Our long term goal was to move back to the Pac NW where I grew up to be closer to my family. My job just disappeared so we decided to make our long term goal a very, very short one. So things are crazy right now but I am excited.
I will not have as much time to post here short term, but I will keep checking in. I plan to train until the move Nov. 10, then start up again as soon as reasonably possible after the move.
Wish me luck,
Jack

I will. I know a lot of people with that plan, just talked to another tonight.
Wish you luck.
Thanks guys. I am optimistic about the move.
Wave 5, week 1, press, TM 165. 5-5-5, 65, 75, 85%.
Weight: 219.5 (still heading north).
Press: 45 x10, 45 x10, 65 x10, 90 x3, 110 x5, 125 x5, 140 x9.
BBB Press: 95 x 10, 10, 10, 10, 10
Superset:
Dips BW X 10, +20 X10, +40 X5, +60 X4
Chins 5,5,5,5,5
Superset:
Flys 45 x 10, 10, 10, 10
Cable Rows 190 x 10, 10, 10, 10
Leg raises 5 , 5, 5, 5
Planks from pushup positions 3 sets 1 min hold, 1 min. rest.
Notes: My shoulders were fried after presses, this made dips very difficult. I will likely move dips in front of BBB press set. I am used to working up to +90 lbs on dips. Also, the planks were a bitch. I need to do these more often.

GPP: I just sold my dumbbell set and moved them downstairs for the pick-up. Sorry to see them go, but didn’t need the extra weight on the move:
Wave 5, week 2, deads. 3-3-3, 70, 80, 90%, TM 375.
Weight: 222. Wow.
Deads: 45 x10. 90 x10, 135 x5, 185 x3, 225 x1, 265 x3, 300 x3, 340 x 7.
I’m not doing Jack shit: No sets.
Notes: My alarm didn’t go off this morning and I missed my workout with my lifting partner. Good thing I am unemployed, so I still got to lift. The bad news is, my lower back was fried when I walked into the gym. Even the bar felt heavy. So I fought through the basic workout and called it quits. I barely got half the reps I did with 20 lbs less last week on the money set, and had to rest a but between each rep. I think the extra work on sunday plus moving the dumbbell set, plus moving furniture compromised my recovery. Hopefully Thursday will go better.
sucks when chores, etc compromise the lifting. I often use that as an excuse. “No honey, I am not going to do yard work today, I have to squat tomorrow. We’ll see if I feel like doing yard work after squatting.” Usually goes over real well:)
I get the same thing with work… using a ladder for 8 hours gets old quick after squats and deads.

Strong man training. I had to move a big fuckin piece of furniture downstairs and to my in-laws house. By myself. All my good-for-nothin so-called friends all claim they have jobs to go to.

In the truck:
good work Jack - did you throw them over the rail and then run down and catch them?
Sd: It was more creative engineering than a feat of strength.
Fife is just down the hill from where I am moving. I am thinking about signing up for this:
Do it! We only have 2 meets per year in my area, and I never get to go…
I think I will MJ.
Wave 5, week 2, bench. 3-3-3, 70,80,90%. TM 250. Weight: A svelt 219.
Bench: 45 x20, 90 x10, 135 x5, 175 x3, 200 x3, 225 x11 (Rep PR).
Incline DBBench: 45 x10, 65 x10, 100 x7 (Rep PR +3 reps)
Chins: 9,6,5,4,4,3,2 (33 chins)
Super set:
BBB Bench: 175 x 10, 10, 10, 10, 10
Kroc Rows: 120s x 12, 12, 12, 12, 12
Notes: Much better session than Tues. I got a rep PR in bench and a big PR on Incline DB Bench. My bench form felt better and more solid. I am working on rowing the weights down more and staying tight everywhere. I added 10 lbs. to BBB bench and 2 reps to Krock rows over last week and completed all the reps (with one slip). The weight slipped out of my hand on one of my last reps of rows and I got chewed out by a trainer for being a D-Bag weight dropper. I said I was sorry. Chins felt heavy, and that’s because my body weight is going through the roof. I am going to ease up the Dave Tate diet and cut out the 1/2 gal. of ice cream I have been eating right before bed.
Nice work jack. Great PRs! Congrats! And, to echo mj, Do The Meet!
