Looking strong. Youve got more bench in you. It will come.
Good work here. Handling some good weights.
Awesome progress!
If you repeat this kind of gains in the next 3/4 cycles, I’m going to accuse you of being on something…lol
Nice work!!
great job and great progress.
jjack… Where are you hiding?
Oct. 20, 2009, deload over, Wave 5, Week 1, deads, TM 375, 65, 75, 85%, 5-5-5, weight: 218.
Deads: 45 x10, 90 x10, 135 x5, 185 x3, 225 x1, 245 x5, 280 x5, 320 x15. (Rep PR) (these felt light)
BBB Deads: 245 x 10, 10, 10, 10, 10
I aint doing Jack shit: played golf with a buddy for the first time since Jan. 1. and played pretty well actually. Hit a 45 footer on nine to win a huge pot, and birdied the 213 yd par three 16th that was playing straight into the teeth of a 35 mph wind to take another huge pot. Knocked a three wood to about 6 feet and hit a slippery slider back down the hill. Good times.
Notes: Our long term goal was to move back to the Pac NW where I grew up to be closer to my family. My job just disappeared so we decided to make our long term goal a very, very short one. So things are crazy right now but I am excited. I will not have as much time to post here short term, but I will keep checking in. I plan to train until the move Nov. 10, then start up again as soon as reasonably possible after the move.
Wish me luck,
Jack
Edit: Sorry LS. Looks like I may not make a PL meet in Texas as we had planned. I was looking forward to that.

jjack, sorry to hear about the employment situation. Unfortunately, it is a sign of the times. I am glad, though, that there appears to be a a silver lining.
Where, in the Pac NW are you from? My wife grew up on Orcas Island, in the sound. I’ve never been to Oregon, but have visited Spokane and Cheney, WA.
No problems on the meet. We will both get one, or more, done. They just won’t be the same ones. Maybe, if time and logistics permit, we can still get together with 63G and break a sweat, before you head north.
Best of luck!
Dang man, thats too bad. Was looking forward to it. What part of PNW are your from? I spent a lot of time out that way as a kid.
Golf never was my game. Never could get it through the windmill. Good luck with your move. Hope things are better where you’re headed.
LS and 68: I am from Gig Harbor, across the Galloping Gurdey (Tacoma Narrows Bridge) from Tacoma. I have family in the Harbor, Tacoma, Milton, and Lake Tapps. Change always causes some anxiety, bet we are excited about the move.
Hel: Thanks. And that Windmill is always a bitch.
As an aside, my parents live next to my deseased granddad’s old lumber yard. There is still a huge shed with about a 60 foot ceiling and a ton of heavy shit to toss around. I am thinking about turning this into my power rack and deadlift jack:

Hmm. Pic won’t load. I’ll try again:
Awesome deadlift jack/squat rack
What are the job prospects in the PNW when you move?
Nice work in the gym and on the course…
rough luck with the job, sorry to hear it.
Ive been slow all year til recently.
Family is always good to be close too.
good luck with the move
I saw your squat and military press in the powerlifting PR thread. Very impressive! Looks like your training is paying off. I hope to be there someday.
VERY beautiful up there. I know your family will be glad to have you back.
Thanks guys for all the support, we are really looking forward to the move. I have been away from my family for about 20 years now, and it is time to go home. SD, I don’t have any specific job offers, but I do have some leads. I am also considering hanging out a shingle, given my lack of any real desire to work for someone else. But I have some time to think about it. I am pretty optimistic and not that concerned at this point.
Wave 5, Week 1, Bench. TM 250, 5-5-5, 65, 75, 85%. Weight 217.
Bench: 45 x20, 90 x10, 135 x5, 165 x5, 190 x5, 215 x12.
Incline DB Bench: 45s x10, 65s x10, 100s x 4.
Chins: 8,5,5,4,4,3,3,3,3 (40 total)
SuperSet BBB Bench (165) with Krock Rows (120s) 10, 10, 10, 10, 10.
Notes: I am wiped out. The chins felt heavy and the Krock rows felt really freaking heavy. All-in-all, I am pretty happy with the workout.
Nice workout. Good luck on the move and the career.
I’m sorry to hear about the job thing, counsel. Indeed, a sign of the times.
If you’d like to talk shingle, PM me.
P.S. Krock rows with 120s is sick.
Thanks Pete and Kimba. And Kimba, I am going to take you up on your offer when I get a spare moment.
Jack
I agree with Pete and Kimba. Your workouts are kicking ass. After those chins and Krok rows I bet you were wiped out.
