JJackKrash's Training/Ski Log

Not only do I hate you for pulling 445, I hate you for doing it without straps!

Congrats!

Excellent form. Like your jumps. Screw the little stuff, let’s go up 70#. You been listening to Joe Goode?

Congrats on the 70lbs PR.

Are you going to base your training max on this new max, or are you adding 10# next cycle?

Thanks, guys, for the support. My lower back is freeking torched tonight, but I feel pretty happy about this morning.

Kimba, thanks for the bonus points. I got no choice in the matter–its ass crack or nothing with my schedule. :).

On a side note, we took the boy to his first state fair today. I made the mistake of wearing chucks and walking on asphalt for 4 hours, which didn’t help soothe my back. Verdict on the fried butter: pretty damn good. It looks like a donut hole and is served dripping in honey. It’s really tasty. Dave Tate could have a dozen for dessert after he finishes his pizza.

Thanks FF. I am going to stick with the program as written and add ten pounds after the deload. It has been working so far, so I’m not going to mess with it, other than maybe playing around with the assistance work a bit.

Why yes, yes I have.

Awesome work, congrats on the PR…

Nice form too. I bet youll beat me to 500 you bollox

40 lb jump from 405? Gutsy, And you got it. Outstanding.

I bet Meat tells you to do rack pulls from mid shin…

Thanks KMac. I will certainly do my best to earn the bollox title.

Rack pulls from shins. Hmm. Now you got me thinking.

Nice job on that DL PR, JJ!

Just from my own experience, I think you may be underestimating the toll that MAX pull took on you. I am not sure you were well recovered for a max bench.

265 should be a PR right? I would have tried 275 rather than 285 a second time.

Thanks FF, you may be right. I also had a stressful previous day with almost no food as well. That didn’t help. As far as my previous PR, I did 275 about a month ago for a form check with Meat, which was about a 20 lbs. PR from the start of the program at the end of June. I wasn’t really interested in tieing the PR. Shoulda tried 280 I guess. :).

Those are some awesome increases for just 3.5 months (more or less)! Great job!

All the cool kids are air humping, so I hear.

Those are some impressive numbers. Nice job!

I’m jealous! Nice work!

Thanks Math, LS, SD, Kimba, and MCL! I appreciate everyone stopping by.

Now, its time for a deload and some planning. I think we are going to add a day and split up press and squats. We will probably go:

Tues: deads, asst.: BBB deads, air humping, farmers walk.
Thurs: bench, asst.: BBB bench, chins, incline bench, krock rows.
Sat.: squats, asst.: heavy Zercher, BBB front squat, GMs.
Sun.: press, asst.: BBB press, dips, leg raises, static ab holds.

I am tempted to throw in some complexes somewhere, and I need to run stairs or push a sled. I have a week to think about it.
