This is a hypothetical conversation between a fictitious Imam and one of his followers, but it serves to point out where in the Hadith and Sira (biography of Mohammed) jihad via rape is supported:
You wanna just make an Islam-watch.com thread? Just to concentrate it I mean?
On the vid: Yes. The Koran contains disgusting passages and the concepts of Islam are inherently shitty. We get it.
We have one, COUNT HIM, ONE, member who will seriously defend Islam entirely. Does Lixy’s faith in his own religion really bother you that much?
From here on out, we will only discuss lolly-pop flavors in the Politics and World Issues forum.
I like Root Beer.

I like purple. The wrapper may say grape, but it doesn’t taste like any grapes I’ve ever had. So… purple.
I understand your point, Beowolf. A lot of times though, it helps to have the intellectual ammunition necessary to confront Islam apologists in real life, whether or not they’re Muslims. You can also pass this knowledge on to others. If you all want, though, I’ll stop posting these things. I’ve had one other person tell me the same.
I must have missed the part where PRCalDude brought up Lixy…

DOESN’T Lixy’s constant harping on the American Evil Empire bother YOU enough to write him a note like this? [/quote]
No, no it doesn’t. I rarely agree with him, but at least he’s bringing the concept of America’s fallibility to the table, something a lot of you fail to do at all.
@OP: Look I’m not saying I want you to STOP posting information, I just think 10 threads is a bit much, as some of them don’t really get discussion. This article is evidence, not a topic of discussion. It’s not even very unique evidence.
Make a thread titled: Why the Koran is Evil, and shove all of this in their. I guarantee you’ll get better discussion, especially out of the more theological members.
EDIT: If this were a thread about an ACTUAL EVENT, and not a hypothetical, I would have no problem with it. Being an actual occurrence would make this something we could build a discussion around. A hypothetical lends itself more to being a statement used in an argument, not something to argue over.

You do realize that I haven’t started a thread in ages now, don’t you?

I agree. I may not agree with Lixy with some of what he/she says, but I am glad his/her perspective is here at all. I wouldn’t have known about how others feel about this country without it. It seems everyone is so caught up in the promotion of this country as all powerful and never erring that they think any criticism is a personal attack on them.
While we are on the subject, what fucking sex are you, Lixy?

Good question. I actually think Rainjack is onto something.
Would her opinions be more palatable if she were smokin’ hot?

And you don’t think that lixy’s habit of framing the discussion such that America is at fault for damn near everything is a big reason for that? Or did you miss when lixy admitted he’s just a troll with an agenda?
Hypothetical: If we’re discussing college football, and every thread is about how horrible OU is (an incorrect statement), do you think that I, an OU fan, would talk about OU stinking up bowl games (a legitimate criticism)? Or would I instead continually try to remind everybody that OU is, in fact, pretty damn good, all things considered?
Nearly every post of mine would be highlighting good things about OU, yet you would not be receiving a completely accurate picture of my opinions about OU football because of how the discussions are framed.
You’re seeing that exact effect here, when lixy spends 5,500 posts throwing out distorted pictures of America’s actions. Many of us don’t feel particularly compelled to offer our objective criticisms of America when lixy has hijacked the entire forum into the ditch.
I understand that everyone has a different opinion of what the “proper” context is, but my Lord, lixy is off in la-la land, where the U.S. is about on the same level as Darth Vader’s Galactic Empire.

She is a baby raping little boy.

Said country is all powerful. There’s no question about that. Where we often quibble about on this board, is the insane notion that might makes right. Indeed, for a substantial portion of America, questioning the morality and/or motives of the country’s actions overseas is out of the question. Contrary to the popular belief that I’m anti-American, I hold the Founding Fathers and their ideology in the highest regards. I also have a huge admiration for the scientific, literary and intellectual achievements of Americans. Needless to say that, overall, I find the country breathtaking.
Questioning Washington’s wisdom in fighting the Red Scare makes a lot of people see red (Gkhan, hedo, Sloth, etc.) It also seems that they don’t like people to be reminded of the horror the US unleashed on Iraq under the guise of this newly found Green Scare. I’m sorry if it hurts people sensibilities that I criticize the US’ decision to invade Iraq but I think I earned that right by being among the millions and millions of people on the planet who actively shouted everything Americans needed to know. You have to start asking questions when 80% of the US population buying into the blatant propaganda of Bush and his cronies around 2003. Maybe, just maybe, if we hammer it enough, next time the American public is presented with a similar situation, they might start to ask for evidence and pay attention to what the media elsewhere are reporting. Given the cost in human lives, I think it’s well worth a try.
I’m all man.
Despite pointing that out to RJ several times, he insists on using feminine pronouns when referring to me. For some reason, calling someone a girl seems to be that Texan’s favorite ad hominem. The feminist in me finds that very offensive.

Lixy isn’t from Sweden, isn’t a Muslim, and doesn’t lift the iron. He is Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins love child, and currently lives in Sean Penn’s basement.

If this is all you did, I do not think people would have a problem.
You criticize the US decision to do ANYTHING. Period.

I honestly don’t disagree with anything you just wrote and I share the exact same feelings on the issue concerning Iraq.
What are you basing that on? Plenty of us here believe America is fallible, shouldn’t have gone into Iraq, shouldn’t support Bosnian Muslim terrorists instead of the Serbs, or lots of other things. Most of us are decidedly NOT anti-American, which is certainly a different perspective than lixy’s.

Err… a lot of that sentiment is fairly recent. Until just a few months ago, saying the war was not going well was a mortal sin around here.
