Jesus Camp

If it’s brainwashing you should support the government taking the children, while placing the parents in custody for child abuse. Let’s speak plainly.

My personal belief is that these children are probably better off than the one’s found glued to violent/sexual entertainment throughout most broken homes across the nation.

Wait… This shit is better than playing GTA and watching porn?!

That lady looks like she ate Jesus…

FYI, I’ve seen this documentary and there is a minister in it who was the former spiritual adviser to George W. Bush. Anyway, in the film he denounces homosexuality as a sin and then later on gets caught smoking crystal meth and having sex with a male prostitute… of course the devil made him do it.

Male on male sex is just part of the meth experience, it doesn’t make him gay.

And homosexuality is a sin according to the bible. Either way, I’m willing to bet he never proclaimed himself sinless.

The video is seriously creepy though. I hope that doesn’t screw the kids up too bad. I never understand how something like that scene in the video could come out of reading the new testament.

To quote Gary Coleman (God rest his soul) “What you talkin’ 'bout Willis?!”

I’ve done meth plenty of times and never once smoked cock.

To be clear to everyone on this board, my statement was in fact a joke. The qualification for gay or not has nothing to do with meth. It has to do with who’s receiving.

but what if they are happy “glued to violent/sexual entertainment” and coming from broken homes?

Well, then we ask ourselves which upbringing is most likely to produce violence, other criminal activity, and generational poverty.

I like to think of it as the “would I drive down their street?” test. I’ve never worried about accidentally turning into a holy-roller/pentecostal heavy neighborhood.

I am glad you cleared that up for us, because for a moment it sounded like you had first hand knowledge of that statement. lmao

This film made me cry. Proper sobbing. It was when the little girl handed the boy who had doubts a tissue while all round him people are going crazy breaking stuff. The boy was crying his eyes out having a break down and this girl was the only one who noticed. Didn’t watch the youtube clip so don’t know if it had that bit, can’t watch it again.

Disgusting, vile, child abusing, wastes of breath.

I think they qualify what the boy was doing as having a religious experience. I don’t know that he was having a break down any more than the others.

I would not train my child this way but this has been going on since the beginning of time. These kids will be fine. Some will be next generation religious nut jobs and some will be next generation on T nation

…and some of these kids will be featured on future episodes of A & E’s Intervention.

That…was some high level creepy shit. No joke.

To be honest I agree. The video sickened me but hardly as much as 8 year olds playing gta and smoking. So while I think they should cut that shit out I’m hardly going to call child services. I’ll wait until they have fixed all the really fucked up kids before thinking calling them in for the less serious cases.

I’m willing to bet that these kids will end up less messed up than the average ghetto child.

I’m not so sure. I’ve known some people who were seriously messed up by what their parents religion did to them as children. And I’m not joking either; I’m talking about seriously disturbed people.

More disturbed than gang bangers killing people for respect?

Not quite, but almost.

how about this for a question; as disturbed as the hutaree militia plotting to kill police officers in the name of their religion? Religions a hoot…

http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/organizations/h/hutaree/index.html
Hutaree is a Michigan-based Christian militia group. Nine members of the group were indicted in March 2010 on sedition and weapons charges in connection with an alleged plot to murder law enforcement officers in hopes of setting off an anti-government uprising.

I’m not defending the gangbangers here, but you’re attempting to frame this discussion as a this or that argument. They both suck. It’s like trying trying to say that a kick in the balls is better than a poke in the eye.

Not at all. I already said that the video sickened me. It is just there are a few people around here who will jump on anything religious in nature and use it as an excuse to bash religious people.

I’m simply pointing out that bad parenting is hardly related to religion.
