So this has taken for ever for a huge variety of reasons. Lots of changes to the plans, my builder changing shops, the machine shop closing down, in addition to normal fit up issues, BUT the machine work is done and stuff is starting to go back together.
We went for oversized mahle pistons, to sleeving the block because no machine shops wanted to touch the carbon matrix cylinders, to oem sized mahles with no machining because the cylinders were still perfect after 170k miles. I’m also going ahead and upgrading to eagle H-beam rods due to piston pin size.
So glad you’re posting. Are you going to knife edge that crank?
Nope. That would be cool, but the shop I ended up at doesn’t have the experience. Just polished the lobes.
You must be new here cryptonite.

Coming together slowly, but the head is together and differential should be going in soon. I ended up going with an Mfactory helical instead of rebuilding an OBX. Waiting on a new piston ring compressor before the block can go together.
i am, i couldnt ressit posting tho
Isn’t this the one they brought over as a Chevy SS? Those are such a nice sleeper car. Looks like a Chevy Malibu but has essentially a previous-gen Corvette engine. Matched to a six speed manual, they are quite teh ride.
