Box squats + monster mini bands
8 sets of 3
4 sets of 3 115lbs–an increase from last week, but I did have a just bit less tension w/ bands
4 sets 3 105lbs—good form
2 sets of 3 no bands 115lbs…I dropped down so low. It was insane!!
One more week of bands with bench and squats, then on to the chains. These lifts are heliping my deadlift. I probably deadlift 2-3 times a month and I PR’d a 292!!! I am gonna keep doing what I am doin’ becuase it is workin’…for now ![]()
stretching and diet was good for today.
I got a pedicure before squatin’…just thought I would throw that in there!
You are a beast, especially under 150lbs bodyweight! Awesome training…a pedicure for every PR!
Bench + bands
4 sets of 3-70lbs
4 sets of 3-100lbs
these sets were very hard. The bands had a lot of resistance.
1 mile run
diet was good.
I met a boy. I got butterflies in my tummy. That has not happened in a loooooong time. I really like this nerdy-cutie!! He is mine and he wants me…he does not know it yet. I thought I would share! haha

pilates
stretching was awesome. She really burned my abs and abductors…I am just tired now. We worked on breathing and abs, abs, abs!!
The pilates is awesome I have to continue. In powerlifting, a strong core is a must. I have a weak core…I think if I stick with the pilates my lifts will increase, form will get better, and hopefully I have less back issues! My posture us way off. I tend to stick my chest out thinking that I am standing straight and my shoulders tend to creep up to my ears --as I type I am making an effort to rest my shoulers down…tuck my belly button…a little pelvis tilt…ahhh so much work…
My friends is an MD and he powerlifts with me haha Dr. Lifts-a-lot-of-heavy-ass-weight…he really encouraged the pilates/yoga for posture issues…he has been helping me with bands, the set up, etc
hhmmm but I guess if you look at the typical powerlifter they have like a barrel chest. I got a lot of work ahead me
I think it is funny…I am going to tell my boys I train with in gym to do pilates to help them with lifts. As if they need help…I train with a 44 year old monster that pulls 700+ in deadlift…RAW!!
I went to Home Depot to get my chains for lifting next week. My friend has chains, but I want to get my own. Any of y’all females know where to get chains for cheap?? I have set up chains, links, and two chains for weight. I needs more pieces of chains (in pairs of 5ft) to increase the weight.
One of the guys at the gym was like, “use bands that is what I would do and they are easier to carry…” I said, “yeah I already use bands, but I need to work with chains.”
haha tonight I have more fun times with the deadlifting.
My diet is good. Some weight gain due to water retention due to my favorite part of the month!
I’ll admit it. I’m a yoga and pilates drop-out, in large measure because I found neither thing entertaining enough. Although to be fair, I’ve only ever done Pilates mat work and not the Reformer (which looks amazingly cool).
But, I’m super glad it is working for you! Keep at it and give it a good chance.
5’ 7lbs of chain the the depot cost me 20 bucks. Just curious, why MUST you hit chains as well as bands? They’re both top end and your buddy’s right, bands are easier to tote around.
I know. Well I kinda follow what Wild Iron Gym does. They are very much training Louie Simmons Westside Style…I have had increases working this style. I will stick with it for a while.

I thought about rows, but still taking it light and easy on back with deads. Also, training will be about volume for the next 3 weeks w/ chains. I have about 4 weeks before the meet, but I take a whole week before off.
Diet is good. I am thinking this 132 business is going to happen. Really dont want to weigh in now due to PMS.
Overall very good! This weekend I am going to load up on cardio and focus on diet.

hmmm I switch the stretches out. For deadlift I stretch my backside (hams, and back) but also some chest.

Thanks for the ideas! That yoga pose sounds like “child’s pose”. I think I’ll go and do that one right now.

You are gross Bobbie!!! Once I posted I realized what I wrote…but too lazy to edit haha I eat them in omlettes and hard boiled. I just discovered how to make egg drop soup as another way of eating them. Some variety.
