So you have the total right now at this body weight?
When is weigh in?
Do you just want to break the record or do you wanna lift as much as possible and set a new record for everyone to beat?
Feasibility of a slow “normal” cut leading into comp going off past experiences, current strength fluctuation etc. ?
Do you know how your body responds to different methods e.g. drastic short term cuts, water cuts etc. or can you predict (keeping in mind 24hr weigh in)?

I think there’s some vids of Kevin Oak and Dan Green water cutting hard and their experiences might persuade or dissuade you one way or another.
A few minutes before his weigh in my mate was hoodied up in the car with the heat on and spitting into a cup. Made weight but then started cramping. Was just his calves though but funnily enough it affected every lift a little bit lol
Guess the biggest issue is zero past experience of water cuts, so no idea how much is realistic. If 2kg was 'no brainer, 3kg was ‘a bit of suffering’ and 4kg was ‘near death experience’ (diminishing returns) then I would probably try to get down another kilo. But if those levels are 4kg, 6kg and 7kg then I’m laughing all the way to the platform.
Gut feeling is 5% drop should be reasonable, without going to extreme and affecting my lifts. So Im mentally trying to balance the risk of losing total by losing real weight, losing total by too extreme water cut, and missing weight class. Also shredded is sexy #ZYZZTHETICS.
If you’re not planning on using ANY diuretic or sauna time (or hot bath), 10 lbs won’t be easy. Are you dead set on avoiding those things?
If you really nail your water loading process, carb and sodium intake, and are totally strict when you’re depleting, 10 lbs may not be so bad. But you’ll likely make mistakes, so that’s why sauna time is nice. Helps compensate for mistakes, and in my opinion, because it strips water weight so much faster, it’s a more comfortable approach. I want to spend as little time depleted as possible, so I can start the process later in the day on Thursday if I know I have the sauna option in my back pocket. Just a thought.
As I mentioned as well, I don’t use harsh prescription diuretics or anything, but dandelion root and beer are useful. 1 lite beer for your last meal can really help get the process started.
Hot bath / sauna im happy to have as back pocket options, mire diuretics I want to avoid because I don’t know what im doing, but a milder ‘natural’ diuretic like you mention could be Ok.
I know I can 100% nail a carb deplete, sub 10g carb in the week up to the meet will be easy, hoping to lose the majority of the weight that way.
it can. it just helps to get a little more liquid in to get started, because you’re trying to make yourself urinate. A tall glass of water to go with the whiskey should be fine though.
Gym has fancy Eleiko plates probably more than 1000 bucks worth of plates on the bar and they don’t have IPF spec racks? The moving rack thing might make the transition to a comp bench awkward.
Adjustable rack height in fine increments. Bar roller so bar can be moved side to side easy. Safeties adjustable in fine increments. Grippier bench pad might be firmer depending on which one your fed uses. Probably wider for bigger base of support. Heights a bit nicer on your leg position.
Actually verh Good to know, also explains why I see people putting bands around te bench if a comp bench is ‘stickier’. nothing like that at my gym though I dont think. Just your standard 2 height rack and one with the one hand-off arm
