It's Time

hey guys…
here is the situation…going to move to mexico with the wife in 2 months…want to lose weight and gain LBM. I am 240 and 25% BF :{…Want help what should I do??? Need help…She is there and I want to blow her away. Now that she is gone…I have seven days a week of fitness facility time…nothing to do but train , work and play video games. Help me please…want to blow her away. thanks in advance to everyone who helps me and to those that want to but do not know how.

Are you in decent shape overall? Is you conditioning okay? Do you have any muscle mass?

What is your diet currently like and are you doing any sort of training at this time?

The Diet is pretty crap right now. I need to change that large. It is basically pastas, junk food, all the time. I follow the “what the girl wants diet”. As far as conditioning goes…it is pretty weak right now. The strength is not the same and lets just say that a marathon race for me would be about 2 concrete blocks. So am I strong and fit…well compare me to a corpse and I got him beat anytime.

In that case I wouldn’t do anything to extreme over the next two months.

Go click on that search button up above and lookup and read:

Hard body manifesto parts I and II

that will cover your diet

Next lookup and read TBT (total body training). Currently it seems to be the best read program here. Since you are in pretty bad shape, you have a good chance of loosing fat while gaining muscle.

Don’t do too much cardio as that will cause you to overtrain. I think you should also read “cardio confusion”. You need some basic conditioning.

Think of this as a lifestyle change and not just a “I want to look hot in two months”. Your wife will be more appreciative of you changing your life habits than she will of you looking good in two months only to then become a fat pig later.

Good luck!

Umm, 2 months until moving to Mexico? That’s 9 weeks at most. I suggest you channel all your love for your wife into the most vicious aggression towards your physique that you can muster, because your goals will only start to be fulfilled at about 8-10% bodyfat below where you are, preferably a few further, and that is a lot to drop fast.

Search these things and do them:

Velocity Diet - Chris Shugart
Running Man - Christian Thibadeau
Fat to Fire - John Davies

I know full well that your chances of compliance given your training and diet history are basically wishful thinking, but so is carving a Mexican vacation physique out of 25% body fat in 2 months. I just think this is the manner, however extreme, in which you would most likely get the most desirable results, if you saw it through to completion. Good luck.

Yeah, wishful thinking is a good way to describe it.

Look up the T-Dawg diet, and follow it for the next week. Perhaps read “The 7 Habits…” first and start with it on day one while you throw all the crap out and do some shopping for days 2 through 7.

If you haven’t gotten your nutrition nailed within three days, screw off, you are wasting our time.

If you have, come on back and let us know about your newfound discipline. We’ll help, but why waste our time if you don’t have what it takes to go for this amazing transformation. This shit isn’t “easy” and it doesn’t happen overnight.

This is supposed to be a kick in the ass to motivate you, not discourage you, but either way it’ll do the job. It’s your move.

Hey Guys…
I know realistically that in this short amount of time I will not be able to look like a greek god or anything like that. But remember…she remembers me the way I look now…so if my body composition changes than I will blow her away…right. So I know that changing my nutrition habits and lifting some poundages will help me in changing my body from a doughboy to a less of a doughboy. I also know that this is a lifestyle that I must have to undertake in order to see even more results down the road. What I was looking for was opinions on where to start and which road to take…all you guys have been awesome in your responses, and i do appreciate it a hell of a lot. Once again thank you all for the advice…plus I have one thing to say that i have noticed in our fitness facilities…why do the personal Trainers (whom do rubber band work and Bosu ball work and have no structure to their workouts for there clients) always seem to be the well coveted? I see "no-nonsense lift the big weight trainers and lets follow this program "never busy but the fairy bosu ball guys busy. I do not get it.

Going from 0-60 without any conditioning or a decent diet is a bad idea. Berardi(the main diet expert on this site) advises people to slowly adjust their calorie needs.

I personally think you need to do this somewhat gradually. Lift, eat well, get lots of sleep and do cardio but if you hit things hard 7 days a week it might be too much starting out.

Get on the Fat Fast/Velocity Diet. Personally I’d recommend the more extreme Fat Fast, since its proven effective, whereas, its yet to be seen whether the Velocity Diet will cut as much fat as fast. Start doing some kind of total body workout thats low volume. TBT, HIT(see Darden’s new book), etc. Cardio-wise, don’t go high intensity. Do something mild like walking, and maybe 100 reps a day for one or two muscle groups.

After the first month Fat Fasting, slide into a low-carb diet like T-Dawg, and keep your calories a little below maintenance.

Supplement with whatever you can afford.

Here’s a rough list of priority:

  1. Food(Oil while on the Fat Fast)
  2. Protein Powder(something cheap, you need alot of it for the Fat Fast)
  3. Multivitamin/mineral
  4. ZMA
  5. Thermogenic(s)
  6. Creatine
  7. Alpha Male or other T-booster.
  8. M or other estrogen suppressor
  9. Spike
  10. Glutamine
  11. Yohimbe(standardized for maximal yohimbine)
  12. Fish oil capsules

If you have them already or have some way of aquiring them, prohormones would go on that list right after creatine.

Keep us updated, and stay focused. This will help you stay on track, and help us help you. Best of luck.
