It's the Little Things

I have a little baby that’s a little over a month now. If you’ve ever seen brand new newborns, they don’t have much control over anything about their bodies. When she wakes up crying and I pick her up, she stops crying, looks at me and smiles.

That’s all I ever need.

I don’t often subconsciously smile when I read things but that was friggin priceless.

The feeling of climbing into bed after a hard lifting day (or the day after when you’re just a bit sore) and knowing you’re in for an anabolic night of wonderful.

Someone told me this thread was dead. I was lied to. 30 seconds I will never get back.

  • Waking up before the sun rises… and listening to the silence outside.
  • Seeing my wife naked for that fleeting moment she leaves the shower and heads to her walk-in closet.
  • Sharpening a brand new pencil.
  • That coool feeling of taking off your clothes after a hot sweaty day doing yardwork.

-playing hockey. doesnt matter if its 3am by myself, 7pm with my buds, shinny, a game, practice, shooting pucks outside, taping my stick, sharpening my skates. I LOVE IT.

-PRing on the stairmaster…sounds silly but I feel like a million bucks at the end

-driving on a nice day down the country side listening to music

-some songs that trigger great memories (same with places)

-getting an A on an assignment

-reading

Singing a song at the top of my lungs while I’m riding my motorcycle in Los Angeles traffic, splitting lanes, eventhough I really can’t sing at all and I don’t even remember 3/4ths of the words to ANY song so I just make them up  I even laugh as I do it just to be goofy and make myself have a happy moment.

The fact that the place I moved to has the best smelling roses in the world and they seem to bloom all the time. I get home from work, go in the back yard to greet my dog and we walk together to the rose bush.

And here’s a pic. with my bike.

Getting to the gym the same time as someone else, watching them workout meagerly and still leaving before you while you bust your ass for another 30mins and leave drenched in sweat, possibly walking funny and feeling great that you really pushed yourself that day.

Man this stuff hit home with me:

-I get up at 5:30 everyday, no matter what, and I enjoy the quiet house with my dog curled up beside me on the couch

-When one of my students passes the TAKS test, allowing them to graduate, after several tries

-Seeing an athlete I coach achieve a goal or personal best when powerlifting

-Listening to music that reminds me of time I spent with my dad growing up

-Sitting down with a nice cold beer after working outside all day

There, now relax cowboy. If you take time to notice the small things that bring big pleasure, you will have a much better existence than 90% of the population. I’m very observant of my surroundings, of people. Do you know how many people don’t stop to notice the leaves changing colors in the fall? And then it’s over. It’s so beautiful and most people miss it.[/quote]

I love this place! Someone yells for tits and we are provided first-hand. ( I think )

This is why I could never change sites. There is too much gold to miss here.

I love it when I walk into the gym and the squat rack is free with the pegs at the right height, The good bar with a 45 on each side (my squat warm up).

  • Being in a crowded social situation, and hearing my wife across the room talking adoringly about me.

  • Lying on the couch on our back deck on a warm evening listening to the breeze rustling the leaves overhead.

  • The smell of my dogs’ feet.

  • Completing a good edging job on the lawn.

  • Hearing clients tell me how easy it is to work with me (compared to most artists).

  • Watching my son dominate on bass on stage.

Smart moneys on the girl Bob.

One in a million shots with a witness.
