It's Log!

The video:

(Yes those are my pajamas :stuck_out_tongue: I wasn’t planning on sharing this video) It’s a crappy spot for push presses because I have a ceiling fan to worry about too.

I think that is a push-press because you didn’t catch it with your elbows fully locked out (you had to press it just a tad to get your elbows locked out). That would be my guess, anyway. Strong though!

I read something somewhere (sorry i’m so shit at remembering sources) about how training relatively light weights explosively (e.g., first pull of clean and snatch) translates into gains for limit strength (e.g., deadlift) but not vice versa. So… It would make sense that even though the Oly Weights don’t seem heavy to you your efforts to move them quickly is resulting in a gain to your heavier, slower, limit strength.

(I haven’t tested my max deadlift for a while but now you got me curious… 80kg wouldn’t move from the floor at Christmas… Wonder if I could get it moving now… hmm)

I reckon you should give Sprints etc a shot and see how it works. You can say you are training Polish Style like in the 70’s!

Your training rocks deb!

I am always injuring myself too. Usually at work. Oh well, at least I’m getting paid!

RDLs are a personal favorite of mine. Nice work.

I trained in my pajamas this morning too. Why do extra laundry?!

Planning some sprints soon, once I finish GVT. Been a while for me. Seems that it’ll be a fun change of pace.

I can totally relate to the pullups getting heavier without realizing it. Packing on the mass makes a difference.

Looking sexy…

Ok Alexus, a push press it is

I’ve heard that somewhere too.

I’m tempted to add in some sprints…I don’t want to do too much though. I’ve totally destroyed myself this weekend but I wanted to do some more sprints tomorrow morning. I’m not sure I’m going to be able to walk tomorrow though :o)

They seem like they would be complementary to weightlifting however. And so satisfying!

Thanks Veggie!

I do like the RDLs, they feel nice on the butt and hamstrings for sure! I wish I could do them more often.

PM workout

Still feeling that hip/thigh irritation so I’m catching kind of high. Plus super tired from a lot of stuff this weekend. I’m surprised I got as much done as I did!

hang snatches
bar
70x3,3,3
75x3,3
80x2,2,2
85x1

cleans
bar
95x3
105x3
115x3
120x0,1,0 -soooooo tired

5 pullupsx3

you reminded me i need to do my chin-ups more often. i think it was only like 1/2 an inch or 1 inch short of being a push-jerk. thats pretty freaking good. i can’t push-jerk 30kg :-/

you continually impress and inspire me!

 I would think a push-jerk would be easier than a push press?

I want to try some jerks like this because I need the practice and maybe if I don’t have to clean all the weight I could get more attempts in but the spot is so crappy. I might have to go to the gym for that.

I made myself I deal I’d go squat at the gym at least once or twice a week to get some extra motivation to push a little harder on the reps I’m giving up on (suggested to me and sounds like a good idea) but I just find it so hard to get out there. I drove around to every gym in town that has a rack on Friday but they were all closed for the holidays.

I think if I went to the gym the powerlifters and bodybuilders use I could get some good squats in with some encouragement but they don’t have the bumpers as far as I know. That is on my list if things I must do.

Morning sprint and squats:

I’m not so good at measuring the sprints because I have to set my watch up to measure distances in meters instead of miles and I’m not using the track but I’m just screwing around for now. I did 8 sprints of 0.2 miles with about 0.1 mile in between. With a mile jog before and after.

Then some back squats:
135x5
155x5
165x3
175x3

My massage therapist’s office is still closed but I really want him to work on my quad :frowning: Must wait until tomorrow. My 45s are finally in I hope to pick them up today, if the place is open, which isn’t looking promising.

I like your outfit… push presses… I mean outfit ;D

I wish I could do those damn buggers. For some reason, my legs don’t drive at all for push presses.

Great work Hon.
A gym might give ya the motivation for squats so see what magic you can work.

I’m amazed at the volume of high quality work you get through. Twice a day lifting plus 5k runs and sprints too.

That’s a very impressive workload.

Woohoo! Got my 90lb snatch and a 95lb snatch too. Yay! Still gotta do my clean & jerks. Just had to announce that. =)))))

Thank you hon <3!

I like the idea of having a big guy or two spotting me a lil

Thanks Brett  I’m just taking the squats I’m doing at the end of my night workout and doin gthem in the morning because I have some time off, but I don’t know if I’ll keep it up. It’s kind of nice to have the evening to just do the lifts though, as long as I don’t overdo the squats and make myself too tired I guess.

It’s a constant juggle with that!

So far the sprints aren’t hurting the lifts but I think the 5ks might be. Still experimenting with that because I really don’t want to give up the runs.

So my workout tonight:

The snatches all felt really easy, like the bar just popped up on it’s own and all I had to do it catch it. Andy better not come tell me I suck and was using my arms now (jk ;)) Seriously though I don’t think I was but I’ll put of video of the rest of my snatches from tonight because they felt right so I’d like to know if that was my imagination

snatch
bar
70x3,3
75x3
80x3
85x2,2
90x1 - woohoo
95x1 - woohoohoo
100x0,0 -boo

clean&jerk
100x3
115x1
120x1
120x1
125x1
125x0 (failed on jerk)
good enough

I don’t know why I’m not collapsing in fatigued but I’m worried that if I take a rest day I’ll be hurting badly. I know I need one soon but it still feels good going like this so we’ll see.

Tonight was really good primarily because the Canucks didn’t play, I’m certain.

shit looked easy. got down under it faster! you are catching it in a power snatch (which means you are boss, btw)
