yes, i hope your shoulders come right. yay for med ball slams!
sucks about the shoulders…really does.
I’m having issues too. strong squats!
I’m just plopping in briefly to pollute ur log. I can’t keep up day to day usually but must say bon voyage and all that jazz.
Good to see you Hallscar (your Bennifer name)
posted this in tvix…but lately have been waking up with a couple abs…perhaps they are here to stay?!
Anywho, motivating.
-
1 mile run
-
10 rounds of:
5 clean and jerks @105
5 Body blasters (Burpee–>pullup—>hanging leg raise) -
100 Burpees As quick as possible.
-
1 mile cool down.
*Did this quick, but not so quick that my form turned into crap. Took my time with the clean and jerks. Zoomed through the bodyblasters.
New in my life: looking into buying a private training studio!! Will post peeectures of the place im thinking about
I can’t figure out if I hate or love you.

Of course I <3 you.
Do you train fasted? I don’t think I could do all that stuff with eggs or cottage cheese bouncing around my tummy which is usually what I have pre-training…eww!
I train in the AM fasted (usually cardios and things like I posted above)
I try to train about 1.5 hours after a meal in the PM for strength shiz.
Oh and I <3 yewwwwww
That is nice! And I should think those abs are to stay if you carry on training like that.
Your last workout was fucking insane, by the way. I’ve done some crazy shit but that looks awful. 10 rounds? Bananas.
Thanks Cal!
The 10x5 isn’t too bad…just a way to get in 50 reps of something while still keeping with a heavyish load. I play around with methods like this quite a bit. When I have and spotter/workout partner, my favorite way to throw some weight around for decent reps is to do a little something called 8x8x8.
The idea of that is to get 8 sets of 8 in with 8 seconds of rest…eventually, you fail and after each failure you get an 8 second rest until you try to finish up the sets.
8x8x8 requires a partner though so I’ve just been doing chippers lately
you mean four abs, not two abs. FOUR ABS.
Andy:four-ish…maybe we split the difference? 3 abs? two rectus and an oblique.
Okay…so…this is whats happening on the weekend of september 10th, which will hereby refered to as Dasherpolooza:
AM: Full Power lifting meet
PM: 2.5 mile mud run.
Sunday, September 11th:
Mud Wrestling! (for charity…got roped into this today.)
I.love.this.shit.
Dasher what time are you doing the 100 burpees in?
Also just curious with your thoughts on the prowler, do you pick a shorter 20mtr (66ft)heavier sprint or something a bit longer and lighter like 50 to 100mtr (150 to 300ft)? And why?
I always work with the shorter sprint but you have way more education on this type thing than me so your opinion would be greatly appreciated.
You could start an online ask Dasher training thread, or post a WOD with demonstration by Dasher.
You posting a daily video WOD would be a huge hit here on T-Nation.
Cheers, Spook
^ yes!!!

Dasher: YOu look fabulous! So much good stuff going on–a training studio and dasherpolooza–I can’t wait to hear about it.
Awww!!! You guys are the best. I do sometimes post things on my facebook. I have stupidly posted too much in the tvix thread that I cant have my athletes stumbling upon, so getting my face on here is out…though I have certainly friended TNationers in real life and on facebook. I do keep a blog, too that I will probably get a little more active with, and I might post that.
This particular time, I got the burpees in 6:30. I would love to, someday, be doing that shiz in sub six. We will see.
I do a bit of both. If I am looking for an energy system workout, I choose something a bit lighter and go a longer distance. If I am throwing the prowler into a circuit of some sort, I usually will go heavy. Both have their places. It also depends what I am doing the next day in terms of leg work. This is where crossfit never worked for me: I have to plan these workouts carefully so I dont super hinder myself the next day. A rough workout is not a good idea if it ruins the next few workouts, in my opinion.

You and I are on the same page with the private studio, Dash. And GOT-DAMN!!!
Are you thinking about getting a studio? I got offered a pretty sweet deal at a studio that already exists about 5 minutes from the college I’m coaching at. It has three guys that work there now and they seem like a good crew. I had a meeting two nights ago where I looked at the financial records for the play and discussed some pay details. I’m pretty excited about it.
Edit: thanks Rod
I assume the got-damn was good

The studio/facility is my “end-goal” as far as my dream goes.
“Got-damn” basically means my jaw was on the floor. Too damned fine.
why thank you!
This will be take two of kinda running a fitness facility. The first one I was just a manager and I would up being a pretty big player in opening another branch of the gym. I learned a lot and that experience was invaluable. Ultimately, though, I left to do research. This will be the first time im financially investing in one solo.
