So happy to read you’re getting a prowler–maybe your workouts will inspire me to use mine more! Your deloads are nutty good.
Missouri huh? bummer! Hard to be your assistant from here.

Ooh I’ve been to Missouri - it scared me a little. We’d drive along a highway and it’d be church, church, anti-abortion poster, church, anti-abortion poster, church…
But it does have Silver Dollar City which is a lovely park. Enjoyed the rides and the cave tour very much (nb - my travel around the US is dictated entirely by amusement parks. I’m one of those rollercoaster freaks).
EFS is pretty good with shipping. Just got some chains from them and it came pretty fast.
Prowlahs hheeeaaauuuhh!!
(That’s snooki/jersey speak for “my prowler had arrived in the mail”)

can you make a deadlift video?
followed by a shower video…
one or the other is fine.
nice work.
That would be HOT! Dasher, every time I want to give up on my workout and crawl over to the cardio section, I think of you busting your ass on those weights…so I shut the fuck up and lift.
I want your equipment!!! My gym finally got a tire…yea…its only 125 pounds, so its good for cardio, I guess
Maym—I am really glad to hear that
You are equally inspirational. I always get a case of the get-up-and-go-do when I read through the logs on this forum. Everyone is just baller. The training complex I work at is unreal. It has absolutely everything I can think of. Its made training real fun.
That must be great. My local gym (it’s a local authority health centre - pool, squash court, aerobics studio etc) has the usual crapola weight machines, treadmills etc but also a little free weights room with a squat rack, bench, oly bars and so forth. All the basic stuff I need, but no fun toys such as prowlers, tires or sleds.
Today was my first workout with my little prowler
Nothin’ fancy…
10x40yards with two plates. ROUGH. Had a buddy join me so that was fun.
She’s so purdy. And so dangerous.
Edit: boo! picture wont attach

ended up with type 2 diabetes (oddly)
what were your symptoms like before you were diagnosed?
gradual onset or sudden?
runs in the family?
do have to follow a special low glycemic diet?
is it a pain in the ass to manage, or not really?
just curious (obviously)

My symptoms were…ignorable, but I didnt have it too long (I hadnt had it longer than three months) before we caught it. I was getting a urinalysis for a job I had and my physician called and asked me why there was glucose in my urine, to which I had no answer. I had been sluggish and could tell that I might have blood sugar issues, but I was ignoring them and trying to blame it on marathon training. It actually does run pretty thick on my dads side, but no one in my immediate family had it. I eat pretty low GI as a rule and eat loads of fiber. I limit fruit and its not bad. Honestly, It was kind of a kick in the ass to stop eating shit and get my ass in the gym. I have a good lifestyle for it and havent had a complication since being diagnosed. I was a nutrition/athletic training undergrad at the time so I was in a good position to be aware of what food and exercise would do to my body and glucose levels. Now days, Its like I dont even have it. I check it before I go out for drinks and after i get back and as needed otherwise. I get a hemoglobin A1C test every three or six months, but other than that, its all good. ![]()
HEY! I had a workout partner todayyyyyy for my prowling and took video and thought of you! But no shower partner, so no shower video.
I start a new wave of the 5/3/1 today! I am about to get Ha-Yoog with some squats and then have a cheat meal! Whoot!!! Sunday Funday for Dasher
dont forget to upload the prowler vid
and thanks for the health summary… ![]()
Hey Dash how is that prowler vid going?
I have a home made prowler made from a slab of hard wood that used to be a chopping block that I made from a marine pylon, a plastic milk crate on top and pulled by left over PVC cable from speed rope that I made, harness is an old twin scuba diving harness (really old style from the 70s).
It looks very home made but load up the crate with old plates and sprint up and down the road and you get the sweet smell of burning timber! + funny looks from the neighbours.
Keep up the log, I find it interesting for I have a similar aproach to my training but just not as much workload.
Spook

I’m so jealous of your running–look at that 5k time! Hope those shoulders are ok. Rest a little.
