lol my damn roots is showing, for sure…garage gym, unnecessary bumpers, socks, and no shirt. It doesnt get more crossfit. Maybe I coulda make a spectacle of my overuse of chalk…next time!
edit: aaaaand my touch n go deadlift set. The whole thing smells like the crossfit koolaid. Whatev. I need change, son!
yeaaaaaaaaaah!!! vids FTW!
lookin pretty crossfit… but xfit ladies are usually babes and you fit that description fa show.
lookin good sweet d… is that a tattoo that i see?
also the Olympic lifter in me wants to see you keep your butt lower as you initiate the pull, and then keep that same back angle from floor to knee
Omg, is PB Andy hinting that you are engaging in SEXUAL RELATIONS? Goodness.
Also, Masch acknowledged my existence… I can die happy. And I’d never thought of “Czexican” – brilliant.
Nice deadlifting too! Whoopwhoop.
woot a Dash Vid!!
I’m no expert but I have to agree with PB.
Don’t hurt me!
ahh, now i feel like we are picking on you, first vid and all this criticism. Keep posting though! Sometimes others can see what we can’t. It’s a good way to learn!
a Dasher vid yeah!
I also have the issue of keeping the hips low. Try to remember to drive through your legs more.
love the outfit. and I’ve witnessed way worse garages.
Pbandrew- I will try! Thanks for your helpsie. Im lacking some hip extension in this, I think.
Bug- Whatchu talkin’ 'bout, Willis? Andy is a gentleman and I dont have sexual relations with gentlemen.
MiMzy- No need to duck, ma! I like feedback. I wouldnt get better ever if people didnt tell me things. And you guys are totes right. Since the beginning of time, I have pulled a bit too much with my back. I wish I could figure out sumo, but it doesnt even feel right to me.
nlmain- thanks! My hips shoot up pretty quick from the pull. Is yours getting better? And thanks! I’d really like an indoor gym, but i think a garage gym is what im going to have to work with.
Just woke up…feeling sick still.
No voice still.

giggles A hard man is good to find.
Quadruple yay for Dash vids!! looking stellar, mama. And when we all come live with you, I’m totally claiming the garage as my bedroom. Hope you don’t mind!
My convention pull is 'orrible (as Greg would say), so personally I think yours looks great.
As for the sumo pulling, no doubt you could master it! With your long legs though, you’ll have your toes at the plates. Leave something for us short bitches, will ya?!
Feel better!!! No Eastern European home-remedies involving vodka and garlic?
awww, feel better ![]()
How did you learn to DL in the beginning? I like to think pull back, not up. So that if you let go of the bar, you would fall backwards.
I don’t feel like I have room to talk though since I don’t DL on the reg.

And you know what helped me with this?..retracting my lats!! Its amazing how something so innocuous made a huge difference. Another gem from Andy - you da best!
Well Maschy head, when you move in, I will introduce you to my friend Andy. And he will forever owe me.
I have a bedroom right next to the garage! I haz bed and everything…all I need is Masch!
Next week I will try a little sumo action and video it up (now that I know how…you folk are in a world of hurt)
Mim–I didnt see you up there! Funny story…the guy I dated as an undergrad kinda taught me to deadlift when I was 18. Then I just never learned anything else about deadsies until I started my internship with the Athletic Dept. where I was…the problem is that former Mr. Dasher was a super stud powerlifter (by raw, USAPL guidelines) who happened to deadlift with a very rounded back. I just assumed he wasdoinitright. And he was…for him.
Fast forward to now, and he still is a really good powerlifter but also a surgeon and admits that he thinks his DL form is not good for the masses. Hind-site is 20/20
I’m no expert on touch n go deads, but your first rep you are shooting your hips up a good 6 inches to a foot before the bar moves, almost turning it into a RDL. Move the bar off the ground with your quads not your back. Otherwise good.
quads…I never think quads when im dead-ing. Thanks hubs!
Next monday: a new issue of dasher weekly!

yeah I’ve noticed that the cues that are helpful are the ones that tell you to DO something instead of NOT do something. So instead of saying “your butt is too high”, say “puff your chest out” and that will help a myriad of problems.
edit: yeah, scj is right. The way the Chinese teach it (in terms of Oly) is to think/use quads until around knee level, and at that point is where you shift the tension into the hip extension muscles.
I cant wait for next week!! I am very excited to dead again. Thanks guys!
And giter–thank you for the hair compliment. Its my security blanket. At the end of the day, I always have nice hair. lol But for real, I shed like a mofucka. You wouldnt think it was so pretty if you had to deal with my shedding
just practice with lower weight? Nail your form and move on.
