Statistically speaking you are among the rarest of the rare. [/quote]

x100

Perfectionism sometimes can ruin morale. My Dad’s father said, “you are only as good as your latest achievement”. this at times ragged down om my lifting ego after a poor progress day until I decided to look at things from the longer perspective.

I posted on my journal the 300lbs program, let me know if the format is useful to you.

You mediocre hahahha now your a comedian

Have fun getting back into things!

Snap, squats looked awesome, a bit low, but that’s our Snap! I wish I had more mobility in my hips.

You do that shoulder shake thing too when getting out from under the bar, I see.

Holy flexible batman! well done

Happy to see a new vid from you! Congrats on moving forward in the journey.

Kickin ass and takin names, thats Ms. Snapper for ya

Hi Snap.

Perfectionism has never been my problem. So can’t offer any helpful tips or anything. Kind of like someone who sleeps really well offering an insomniac advice on getting a good nights sleep. Ha ha.

I was wondering though, what the reason going too deep on squats is a problem? I mean provided your back remains strong and all that. Is it about continuing to maintain PL meet depth form?

If one’s squat goal is a max effort on the platform, which mine is, there’s only detriment in squatting too deep. One can certainly lift more weight if the ROM is shorter. It’s just wasted effort. I generally compete geared, however, and that helps keep me from dropping to the floor with big weight.

I read this the other day, “If you never quit, you cannot fail.”

I think it belongs here.

After some time on the sidelines, being in the squat rack with a bar on one’s back is extremely awesome. No matter what plates are loaded onto it.

That visceral knowledge of what its like not to be healthy enough to even participate wears off over a time of good health. But I think its useful to try and keep it in mind as you push yourself to new heights.

Do you just want me to email it to you in Excel form? The grids would then behave. Should i take it your punctuated creatine comment gets the idea across?

My coach is the head ref right now.

Bar high…Squat low…all is good in the world.

Thanks for the link Snap.

In case anyone’s interested, Tuchscherer’s in the bench flight right now, he apparently had a record squat earlier, and is planning to go for a record overall total. He trains alone, so he’s benching w/o a liftoff! Has a higher wilks than the awesome Jennifer Thompson also!

I’ve been analyzing my deadlift. And I’m thinking about returning to conventional on the platform. Here are two pulls: a 225-lb. conventional and a 220-lb modified sumo at the same bodyweight. I’m not a textbook puller by any means. Any thoughts?

I’m throwing my vote to sumo, once break the floor it was pretty smooth, definitely less ROM.
Conv pull your legs/knees looked wobbly and a bit of over extension on lockout.

Will you be pulling in gear? We both know sumo pullers get a bit more from a suit than conv pullers.

I’m with Vikki, the sumo seemed a lot more stable though it being different days could have had something to do with it.

This. If you’re pulling unequipped, I stick with conventional. If you’re geared, go sumo.

Didn’t you switch to sumo because of low back issues? If so, worth considering.
