It's a Snap

I’ll happily cheer you on for your meet! For sure you will lift that weight. I have no doubt.

Snap,

Pause squats seem to be all the rage, they look very difficult so I avoid them but I am encouraged that everyone else is trying them (and by “everyone else” I mean the 3-4% of the population that squats…ever). I would probably run over to spot someone doing what you did, thinking I was helping them.

Yea paused squats, fun fun. …what fun?

Good job Snap!

Are you keeping tight during the pause or loosening the hips up a bit?

damn girl you got great legs! so jelly :frowning:

sorry to here about you coach’s injury…

your quads and hammies are amazing in that squat vid!!! lovely.

your going to kill the meet

Hmmm. I see the man on your squat vid on page 2 slap you on the butt before and after, but not on page 32. Hope the thrill is not gone.

Great form, great weight, you are a strong woman.

Maybe you need to swap that guy’s butt. Or maybe use a rolling pin.

Best of luck tomorrow. I can’t wait to see how you make out.

x3 what they said. Tear it up!

Hope all went well!!

I’ll be thinking “awesome pull” thoughts for you tomorrow.

You are going to kill it.

GO SNAP GO

can’t make it out to see you (bastard!! i know!) but i have total faith in your ability! can’t wait to hear the recap!!

The good news is that I accomplished what I set out to do at my meet: I pulled 220 lb. It wasn’t quite double bodyweight, as I weighed in at 111.1, but I’m calling it close enough. Came up pretty damn fast. Here’s the pull.

Shouldn’t be any problem pulling more next time, although I bombed on my third attempt (232). I just have to get used to how slow sumo breaks off the floor, as I’ve said (and said, and said), and learn to stay with it longer. Also, I hover too long.

The meet was tremendously fun. Lots of friends as well as new faces. Very supportive. But the venue was so cold. The weight room was 55 degrees. I’m not used to that and had a hard time getting my muscles warmed up. I had the shakes so bad before I deadlifted: a combination of being too cold and very nervous. I have newfound respect for those of you who train in your garages.

The bad news is that some of you may remember that I told you that my coach’s shoulder collapsed while benching a week or so ago. An MRI revealed tears of three of the four rotator cuff muscles as well as a detached bicep tendon. This is akin to the magnitude of my shoulder injury combined with Lil Power’s and then some. The news has hit me hard as I’ll be losing a training partner/coach [for awhile] and also worry about my coach’s recovery since he is 72 next week. Actually, it’s hitting me really hard.

BOOM.

Well done Snap!

woo hoo!!! what an awesome lift!

so sorry to hear about your coaches injury :frowning:

Congrats Snap! Also really sad regarding your coach…i hope he and you hang in there!
