It's a Snap

Congratulations on the presses! That truly is a reason to celebrate!

I thought I’d let you know that I’ve been in contact with a couple of coaches in the area who are willing to help out. I’m very excited about the possibilities (and one mentioned competing as early as January, yikes?!). Thank you for your extra push in the right direction.

Good luck with the 10x5

You go girl! You have your mojo on thast for sure, so yes do the meet!

Really , really nice seeing you so excited, and happy with what your doing!

a record for Snap - I can smell it!

My God . . . ANOTHER state record? Is there no stopping this girl?

I’m doing it. It would be a highlight to spend some time with you. Why don’t you show up to pull too? You’d be a show stopper.

Ahh, I talked to my coach about you. All his contacts have been tied up with IPF Open Worlds. So glad you found some options. You truly have talent. And coaches will see that and want the opportunity to be a part of your success. What federation are they affiliated with? Please let me know if I can help further.

Today’s training . . . weak sauce, as Kimba says. Just didn’t feel strong today.

Squat
5/45
5/85
3/105

Box Squat to 2" Below Parallel
5/122
4/127
3/132

Ratcheted down and muscled the weight up. Not super pretty, but I got the prescribed reps. Funny that I enjoy squatting so much since it’s clearly not my strongest lift.

Standing GMs
Weighted Stepups to High Box
Weighted Situps on Decline Bench
Facepulls

I’m not exactly sure. He mentioned both USAPL and NASA

Feeling pretty beat up. Have had a stiff neck/upper back since Saturday. And I pulled a glute/hammie/psoas. Leg feels like it’s not screwed on right. I called my ART guy and am hoping he can straighten me around before I pull Friday. I only have two more pulling sessions before I hit the platform on the 3rd.

I played racquetball last night. Have only played a handful of times before. Just loved it. My face was flushed for a solid hour afterwards. So I guess it’s good cardio.

Hey Snap sorry to hear about the pull, did you do it while playing racket ball? I remember having a hard time even walking & sitting after playing the first time.

Yeah, I think I went a little hard for the first time.

Ended up having a great day in the gym. Everything felt light. Maybe that’s because it was. Lots of volume.

Flat bench
Wide-grip seated row
Cuff rolls
Tricep pushdown
T-bar rows . . . first time doing these
Seated rear delt machine
BB OHP . . . added a few reps this week
Planks. . . argh!
Bulgarian split squat . . . more argh!

Thats a lot of lifts there Snap, big volume.

Today’s training: Deadlift

I’m starting to really like deadlifting again. And even bench. Funny how my likes/dislikes for the big three cycles. I almost feel like I’m cheating on my beloved, the squat, when I say that.

RDL
8/45
5/95

Modified Sumo DL
5/115
5/135
5/155
1/175
3/190
3/200
3/205

I’ve never repped more than 190 before, I don’t believe. So the last two sets are rep PRs. But I gotta admit that a rep PR doesn’t do it for me. If it’s not a 1 RM PR, I don’t really care. I’m still getting used to how slow sumos come off the floor. Very different than a conventional pull. But once I break the floor, it seems golden.

After deadlifting, I played around with front squats with straps. Quite honestly, the rotation required with a clean grip front squat hurts my shoulder a bit. And it’s the weak link. The straps worked great. But I must admit that narrow stance front squatting feels so weird to me. I have to remember to drop down, not sit back. I just love my wide stance squats.

Finished up with a circuit of seated lat pulldown, weighted hypers, and arnold presses. Overhead pressing is steadily improving.

I’m not much of a narrow stance front squatter either. I find it tough to sit down without having my feet at least a bit outside shoulder width.

Cute outfit.

The oversized singlet is adorable, isn’t it? Really flatters me in every way.

Hey, I was being serious. But, if you want to wear something tighter…I’m OK with that.
Legs are omnomnom.

How did ‘eating clean,’ go this week?

Thanks. But certainly I can find more leg-flattering attire.

Not as well as I’d like. Thanks for checking in.

Solid training this morning.

Cuff rolls
High rep flat bench supersetted with bentover BB rows at matching weights
Standing lat pulldown
Hammer curls
Incline DB press
Lying DB tricep extension
Pecs on pec deck
Crunches on the ball
and
Chins . . . 44.5

Was supposed to do 10 x 5 but failed at 4.5 reps on the ninth set. Argh. Failing with a half rep left is mental. I didn’t dig deep enough. I’ll repeat the sets/reps next week.

Two weeks until my meet.

I cant stand over the bar that long, Id have to step back again. Nice training. Seems to be coming together for you. The glute pull must not be an issue now? GOOD!! Nice repping that DL

AND damn woman thats a lot of chins!!

Snap your dl is so beautiful! I’m glad you are having fun with them too! it shows!

That is a lot of chins great job! Do you have access to a chamber bar some place for front sq? I tend to go a bit wider then normal people on my front sq myself for high wt, narrower for reps.
