It's a Snap

I’m with null , you made those look way to smooth.

Two noteworthy things: I can now power clean an empty bar. Almost cried when I did it I was so happy. Also, a guy asked me to spot him on bench (NEVER happens to me). He totally failed on the chest with 275. I DLed a lot of the weight off him, racked it, and said “you’re lucky I’m a good deadlifter.” [/quote]

yay! snapper can power clean again
congrats!

sounds like a prety good day.

Bench day today.

Cuff stuff
External rotation
Flat bench
8/45
5/55
5/62
5/67
5/72
5/76
3/80 FAIL on 4 FAIL on 5
8/62
8/67

I really want to just bag training the bench and focus on squat and DL plus the upper body vanity stuff to keep me somewhat structurally balanced and looking super hot and muscular.

Accessory:
Seated row
Overhead tricep cable
Face pulls
DB rear delt
Bulgarian split squat with the 10s . . . really LOVE these
Abs

good job on the power clean

love the outfit - and I can’t do 1 HLR. swing or not, it was still impressive.

Ditto all of this!

Plus yay for this: “looking super hot and muscular” - you are and shall remain. Nice work, Snap!

Do you ‘feel,’ the HLRs the next day?

You aren’t going to wimp out on bench. Loose talk, is all that is.

I remember when just benching the bar made you cry. You’ll get to where you are going, in time.

I’ll second that!

here comes the lil devil Brute on your shoulder “…oh you can forget about the bench…just do more sq and dl’s”

 but then i know you won’t ever stop completely…

Thanks for all the feedback on how to fix my HLRs. My husband said that they pretty much sucked. Of course, he’s comparing me to the 10-year-old 65-pound competitive gymnast who lives in the house. Hard to compete with her form.

I was warned last week that the easy-street days of touch-and-go deadlifting were coming to a close. Every rep must be reset with a focus on keeping my hips down and avoiding transferring so much of the work to the lower back. Today was day one at that effort.

RDL
8/45
5/95

Modified Sumo DL
5/115
5/135
5/150
5/165 belt
5/170
5/175
10/135

Here’s the 175. Weight and reps are manageable. Gotta love the music!

Wide-Stance Squat
3/8/95

Standing GM
2/8/85

Leg Press
Right Leg/Left Leg/Both Legs
3/8

Superset of lat pulldown and chins. Gotta keep up on the chins. Use it or lose it.

The easy street days of touch and go are almost over? Boooo. I’m enjoying them myself. Love the music too. I think I may add it to my mix.

Your set looked good. Nice and controlled.

Ha, Billy Squier. I have it on vinyl.
And, I’ve never done a touch and go dead set (well once but it felt weird) but I’ve been meaning to learn.

training is looking good

I thought your HLR were good. I wouldn’t worry about the swing. Throw in some L hang holds to mix it up. That DL form suits you too. I have been told, however, that your head should be more neutral than that. I’m not sure what you think about that.

Good stuff! Pausing is so much tougher for me vs touch and go.

Yep. I’ve been told that as well. I am a neck craner. Both when I squat and DL. I’m okay with it. I swear it helps me keep a neutral or tiny arch in my lower back.

Absolutely. I was sore after pulling Friday. Even though the weights weren’t that heavy for me. I attribute that to the reset between each rep.

Saturday I did lots of upper body stuff: flat bench, bentover BB row, incline DB press, tricep kickback, hammer curls, reverse incline Ys (lots o’ snappin in the shoulder here), cuff rolls, Arnolds and . . .

Jump squats! Yes, I did them. ATG too. I really focused on explosiveness when my feet left the floor. I do so like Green Eggs and Ham. I do so like them . . .

Oooh, oooh, we were talking about doing those recently too. I may throw them in this week.

I have always wanted to do jump squats but I have the feeling it would end badly.

Pulling looks very good.

I do so wish my dealifts looked like yours. Nice work in here.
