Good pulling! So will you stay with the sumo?
Good job on the pulling. When your jumping last one slam your feet down on the floor. Then go pull.
BTW - I have a purple belt as well
Your awesome! Great job. This is what Im talking about with the 5 #ers I know theres no race, but you are way stronger than I think you even tap into?!
Ill have to check out the challenge vid, I “think” I want to try it.
nice pulling Snap!

For now, yes. No telling what will happen down the road.

I will definitely try this.

A testament to your good taste.
Still sore today from the DL pulls on Friday.
Upper body today . . . and lots of it:
Close-grip bench
Bentover row
Cuff rolls
Bicep curls
Tricep pushdowns
Situps on decline bench with 10-lb plate behind head
Incline DB press
Arnolds
Power cleans
Lateral raise
Planks
Two noteworthy things: I can now power clean an empty bar. Almost cried when I did it I was so happy. Also, a guy asked me to spot him on bench (NEVER happens to me). He totally failed on the chest with 275. I DLed a lot of the weight off him, racked it, and said “you’re lucky I’m a good deadlifter.”
Good numbers on the pull. That upper body day looked like a ton of volume.
Snapper, that was a funny comment to fail-guy. Did he respond to that?
Bench press behavior in the typical male gym-rat (not of course by those males who frequent this log) is amazingly entertaining.

He apologized. Said he hadn’t been in the gym in awhile . . . blah, blah, blah. To his defense, he was doing a set of eight and had the total fail on his seventh rep.
Squat day.
Squat
5/45
5/65
5/80
Box Squat
5/95
5/105
5/115
Reverse Band Squat
5/130
5/145
Super easy still.
Accessory:
Smith leg press (done with these . . . back pain)
Seated GMs
Stepups to high box with slow eccentric
Cuff rolls
Situps on ball
Single leg hammie curl
HLRs
Video is such a good training tool. I’m doing a major swing on these. Must cut that out.
^^^^^^ Not a bad swing, if you want to correct it just go slow on the negative and that will take care of the swing and everything will fall into place.

Isn’t it amazing, when you have to fight for every stubborn ounce of gain, how little things make you so happy?
Going slow was going to be my answer too. You’ll do fewer reps at first but you’ll catch up quickly.
Good work and that’s a lot of accessory work! Step ups to the high box are my nemisis right now and I commend you for doing them.
Your bench story is the reason why I bench in the power rack when going heavy(ish). We don’t have any women who deadlift and I’d be SOL.

Cute pants.
I’ve never managed to get my legs up that high on HLRs, swing or no swing.
I don’t think the swing was that bad either. I haven’t gotten my legs that high yet but I’ll get there.
Going slow on the negative is a lot harder than it sounds.
In my humble opinion, doing leg raises from the hanging position is the equivalent of doing ab wheel rollouts from the standing position, i.e. it’s the most advanced version.
My .02 is to first, do leg raises lying on the ground -your back is supported, you don’t have to use strength and “mental energy” to hang, so you can focus on establishing the mind muscle connection it requires to use your abs (versus using your hip flexors plus momentum). From the lying position, you can tell if you’re using hip flexors because your lower back will arch.
With practice, the goal is to maintain an almost flat back (certainly constant pressure down towards the ground) while doing this. Focusing on bracing (tense your abs like someone’s about to punch you in the belly) is pretty much required.
i love your enthusiasm for the hlrs’! they aren’t easy either! i have my main trouble with those in my grip–you have impressive grip!
Power clean FTW ![]()
I think you had very little swing in the “torso” which takes a lot to maintain also…so good job!!
It was also nice to see a bit more of you with the tighter pants…very nice Snap!
