Greer has improved tremendously since the last floor videos you posted! She has excellent flexibility and lovely lines. She’s sure to do well this season.
I’ll second this one. Her last tumbling line was very nice.
Now that looked like a sumo deadlift. Looked good! sumo deads have changed so much over the years it seems that most do a conventional type pull with wide feet. Guys like Benamerito and Cain who were go sumo pullers back when everyone was conventional did them like you are being taught. Wide knees, wide feet, hips almost right over bar instead of back behind it, chest up and shoulders almost behind bar on the pull.

I thought it looked kind of pretty. My form changes are all on the advice of a woman who’s been a member of the IPF world team before. I’m meeting with her on Friday to give the sumos another go with her critiquing in person.
First day of new training cycle. My goal is to hit a raw 160-lb. squat at the end of eight weeks, which would be a PR for me.
I tried some new things today. In addition to RDLs (3 x 145) and light GMs, I tried seated GMs with just the bar, which I loved. Also spent a good deal of time trying to rig up reverse hypers on several apparatus. I had some help and ended up putting a band around my waist and choking it off from the rear. Hard to explain. But it worked well for a beginner. I realize that my hammies are a weak link and consequently plan to work them hard this cycle. Funny but one of my “helpers” was a big guy who’s been hanging around my coach and me lately. He suggested banding around my waist and said “I actually heard about this from this website called Testosterone Nation.” Egads. He reads. I didn’t mention that I log.
After reverse hyper experimentation, I did good girl/bad girls and finished up with chins, which I haven’t done in a long time. Did sets of 8, 7, 6 and then called it good.
Time for a new avi. I don’t look very strong in that pic.
Are you using any spot on the bar for foot placement or are you just going for what feels right?
I find I have to have a marker on the bar to be close to consistent.
I was pulling with feet to the plates. But that’s too wide for now. I plan to nail down my foot positioning this Friday. I will use the O rings for alignment.
I forgot to come back to you on the climbing snaps–does husband still climb, if so what sort of routes and where, i am beginning to feel the call of stone again.

My husband climbs all the time. Lots of bouldering (horizontal routes, low to ground) . . . probably 5x week.
He still does roped rock and ice climbs. We live in the Colorado foothills so routes are plentiful within close proximity. He also does mixed routes like 14,000-ft peaks. Also climbs out of state – most recently Wyoming, Utah, and Idaho. Has climbed out of the country as well.
He has tried to get me interested in the sport. I have the strength and flexibility. But sadly I don’t seem to have the head for it.
I did wonder if you had tried it, you would be very strong and flexible from your training. my own climbing was ‘english traditional’ (trad) but during the big breakthrough of grades and styles in the 1980s.
First day of Gillingham bench program. And I’m already going to tinker with it. Ahh, I’m so naughty on such things.
On the advice of a guy that I parallel train with, he suggested programming in my geared max and shirting up on my heavy day while staying raw on my light day. So my light day won’t really be so light since it’s based on a geared 1 RM. Experimentation is fun. And I have a lot of time before my next meet to train. And since this guy benches in the mid-500s, I figure maybe following his lead will have me benching equivalent numbers someday.
So I did flat bench, reverse band bench, seated row, EZ curl skulls, and some cuff stuff. I think I need to do cuff stuff at home aside from benching. I either pre-exhaust my muscles doing it first off or run out of time and motivation if I leave it to the end.
