I look like a total beefcake in my gear.

Bullshit!!
It really is very obvious that the gear is super-tight and that relaxed muscle probably spills out the edge of it, too.
Glad to hear you got to talk to someone about sumo. I’m interested to learn a bit about it (I hear it is technically harder to pull sumo) because it might possibly sort out my femur rotation issues…
Hope you get to take it easy for a bit. I’m sure meets really take things out of you. Not just the attempts but recovering from the hype, too.
Also a bit late but some nice lifts snap! Did you take the videos down or is my PC messed up? Either way congrats on the PR’s and especially the records.
Mimsie: Probably won’t compete until the December state meet here in Colorado. It’s a perennial favorite. If I can get my squat up higher, I may compete in the open geared division because I should be able to break that record eventually.
LSU: Thanks for stopping in. I have learned to not throw my form on squat, regardless of the weight. DL is a different story. Hopefully switching to sumo will cure me of that.
dday: Vids are still up.
damutt: Gosh, that’s just about the best compliment you can give a small person.
MJ: Believe it or not, that’s the most I’ve EVER benched in a meet. Thrilling that I achieved it with all those anchors in my shoulder. I’m sure it gives Lil Power serious hope for her recovery. And the pulled glute . . . well, the pain has gravitated to my psoas and down my leg to the outside of my knee. Feels like my leg isn’t screwed on right. I’m giving it some time and then will see my ART guy to realign it.
Heading into the gym today to do some benching. Quite honestly, I didn’t feel maxed in the bench at the meet. And that is damn good news. I need to work on my raw bench, though. Am thinking I will give the Gillingham program a go for that lift. Although, quite honestly, I can’t see how it drives up numbers.

done Gillinghams squat and deadlift cycles before, a ways back, never even seen the bench cycle. What’s it look like? [/quote]
It’s a 12-week program. One heavy bench day a week. One light bench day a week. Work up to a heavy single followed by 3 x 5 or 5 x 3 on heavy day. 2 x 8 or 8 x 2 on light day.
