Springtime in the Rockies gentlemen! This year we are glad to see it after an extremely dry winter along the front range. Good thing I have tomorrow off, we’ve had about 5 inches so far.
Skid gets a free power cage. You live in the Rockies and could go climbing whenever you want. Me, I’m working 4 'til midnight. Life ain’t fair, I tell ya![/quote]

Just finished my first 90 minute snowblowing session of the storm. We have around a foot of wet, heavy cement like snow so far.

Snowblower! You’re missing out on a FINE GPP opportunity, and using a snowblower instead of a 45 year old scoop shovel you inherited from you father? More proof of life’s lack of fairness!
One of my sons will someday become the lucky owner of that fine scoop shovel. I just have to decide which one to “bless”.

Horsing the snowblower around is already quite enough GPP, thankyouverymuch!
In 2003, we had a blizzard that lasted 4 days and totaled 7 feet of spring snow. That time we had to dig out by hand. Ended up needing to throw the snow up and over 11-12 feet of snow banks on either side of the driveway. Took us more than a few days…

Just over 24 hours into this storm, there is a Honda Civic under there somewhere.

Finished the drive for the second time today, another foot or so of wet heavy snow. Had a branch break near me and fall brushing the back of the truck right after I finished cleaning along the side of the truck. Branch was around 6 inches in diameter. This is why the power has been blinking all day. I’m just happy we haven’t had an extended outage yet.
The picture is looking out the new french doors in the remodeled third story. You can see that the snow right here is around three feet deep.

Darn.
Darn.
Okay, so maybe I need to revise my “Life’s unfair” concept. Maybe, just maybe, life is equally unfair to everybody, but that means that ultimately it IS fair.
BTW, it was 76 and sunny here today… ![]()

Been sleeping like crap recently and am really fatigued after this weekend?s fun in the snow. 6 hours on Sunday snow blowing, cutting trees, digging out the cars, shoveling the decks and scraping ice. This didn?t help my finger joints or elbow at all.

Nice workout!
We can finally see our lawn. Still can’t put any plants out yet because of evening freeze, but I think we’re done with the cold white stuff until the Fall…

Thanks SteelyD!
We’re never done with it at this altitude - it just goes away quicker the next day…
My first year in the Uintah Mountains (1975) it snowed an inch on the 4th of July. I loves me some mountain weather
old lardass
Daughter just got snowed on during her finals, wife is out with her to make sure she can make it home safely and to just spend some time with her.
Makes me glad I’m in Texas.
Wado class tonight, went in draggin’ butt and of course we had a tough conditioning “warm-up” and plenty of dynamic floor movement. Kicked my butt big time…
Wow, that is some snow, NYC the snow is off and on, this winter was bad for us, at the weekend place
it just cleared up maybe 3 weeks ago- was still in big piles before that.
sounds like you had a good wado session

If i remember right, Wado-ryu is some seriously old school karate, but I don’t remember, is it Japanese or Okinawan in origin?
Oh yeah, the old school karate dojos serve up some mean cardio, too!

Wado-Ryu / Wado-Kai is old school Japanese, different organizations same style. On the hard nights, the entire 90 minute class is hard cardio type work. Easy classes, on the other hand, where we are working on new techniques or discussion barely cause a sweat. Easy classes don’t happen very often…
